That closet on the floors of the Marriot Marquis labeled with "FDC" in red letters continues to stop me each year. This year, I got to thinking whether the "intermediate" program had changed it's initials again.

Yes, definitly overdosing, but in a good way. There is no cure from FIRST, its a lifelong addiction. I was just letting you know in case you had missed that glaring and quite obvious fact.


You know you've overdosed on First when you recive informatioin about an advaned junior/senior high school and the only thing that makes you read the information is the fact that it has a "robotics club"
...when your friends tell you to shut up about the robotics fundraisers you're setting up.
....when your favorite teacher agrees to be taped to the wall for you, because she knows how much you love robotics.

-When you dream about walking through the pit during Nationals on the night before you leave Atlanta. And the only reason you wake up is cuz your roommate sticks your vibrating phone on your leg. {Happened to me on Sunday. I thought the phone was something else vibrating in my dream. Ha :] }
-When you spend all your free time on CD when you never have before just trying to find this one guy who you met at Nationals and all you know is his team and his first name
-When everyone in your family and even beyond family knew that you were excited for RoboProm this year just cuz it's your rookie year and you want to take a million pictures to show your nonrobotics friends
-When you put your hair in pigtails, put pipe cleaners in the pony tail ring, and braid the pipe cleaners in your hair to create funky hair and spray your hair blue cuz your team is the LuNaTeCs :]

...you finally actually create a CD account
...you read all of the rules and threads that you can instead of studying for APs
...you start planning for next year, worrying because you can't go to nationals as a rookie team
...you feel completely lost because not only is the season over, but you have a week off from school for spring break
...you see today's XKCD (http://xkcd.com/) and your first thought is "hey! Those aren't omniwheels..." then "I wanna build one!"

EDIT: ...you tell all your friends about the Championships and how the game works and email them links to YouTube videos and try to get your friends from other schools to make teams...

...When you realize the everyone around you knows how to play euchre and what it is, and you can't yell BOOM really loudly in 4th hour, like you did in your hotel lobby, because you threw down the right bower to take the trick and win the game

...When you a simple slip of the toungue suddenly becomes an inside joke and you try to come back to school and spread it so that all of your friends use the word

...When you realize that your house doesn't have 47 floors so you go on your roof throw something down and try to race it down (that was fun 1025)

No, sorry. this year we only got our head mentor to shave his head. No one else wanted to get rid of their hair, but one kid said he would if we did really well at championships. Apparently we didn't do quite good enough:( such spirit.

When you watch 6 fields of atlanta at once

When you need to buy a new remote, because you left yours in Hartford.

When you have a pile of random zipties in the middle of your bedroom floor, which no one in your house sees as unusual.

When your family purchases a basketball hoop, and you want to replace the acryllic backboard with Lexan.

When you try to convince them that it would be easier to just CAD and build our own hoop.

When assembling said hoop, you encounter difficulties, because most of your tools are in your school's shop from late nights, when the team needed an extra socket wrench.

When you still have, fully assembled, all 6 FLL robots you helped build in your house.
