How did I do, Take 2
I am reposting this because the previous version was a "Public Poll." I hadn't even noticed that a "public Poll" was in fact the ability to tell who voted for what. (I had thought that it meant "anyone could answer.") So I ask that anyone that has voted on the other one, if you have a moment, please revote on this one. I'd appreciate it.
and now, for the orig. post: I'm in the running for Game Announcer at VCU next year. (The Play-by-Play guy). I have been practicing Announcing the games this year, both at VCU and Nationals Archimedes Field on Practice day, Thursday. I was wondering how you guys thought I did, and perhaps some suggestions. (Constructive, please). To clarify, I'm Matthew... I was the only Announcer at VCU on practice day and I was the first Announcer on the Archimedes Field on Practice Day. Andrew joined me late in the day on Thursday and you heard from him a few times on the other days, but he was really field supervisor on Archimedes. If you're still not sure which one I am, please ask. Matthew |
Re: How did I do, Take 2
If you want to do more and get involve with FIRST and do play by play at regionals, try doing some off-season competitions around you. It good practice and a lot of FIRST personal are around. I heard you did great on the practice day.
Thats how I got my start for MCing. I MC ed PARC and Duel last year and I will be MCing at Monty Madness and trying to make room for PARC again for this year. Just some advice. |

Foe those who don't know Matt...he's been involved with first for a long time...first as a student and later as a mentor. He did great at VCU this year.
I was mainly in the pits at Nationals so I did'nt get to hear him much. Matt you might also think of MCing with Jeff at Capitol Clash this year.... (he was a ref last year there). |
