Perhaps if you want more attendance in the future, you should contact the team leaders. Your Senior Mentor or regional director should be able to get you this information.

Other than that, sorry that it didn't go off as planned. Do understand, however, that for many people, Sunday is "family day." Maybe a Saturday or Friday evening would work better

For any of you that want to plan some sort of "local" off-season event, using this CD forum may NOT be the best way to get results, but it should continue to be used as ONE of your ways to communicate.

I agree with Beth, that a great way to do soemthing locally is to gather-up e-mail addresses from each team's web site (or their members that are active here). You could even create a yahoo group so that multiple people can maintain that database.

Here's a sortable spreadsheet of every team that went to every regional, so you can sort by state and city to find the teams in your geographical area for a a fun off-season event

In Steve's defense, I think he did the things mentioned by both Beth and Doug.

The event was posted on the Team 1511 calendar on May 8th by Kim, the official team leader/head mentor. I think she sent the event out in one of her e-mail blasts to the team as well. Steve joined the team forum around the same time to publicize the event. If he put that much effort into contacting 1511, I'll bet he did that for all of the Rochester teams.

But like Beth said, it just must have been a busy day for everyone.

I will be flat out honest here... a lot of mentors are very wary of asking their entire team to go to an event that looks like it is entirely run and hosted by a student. In the future, if you want more support from team mentors, you need to have a mentor on your team send out the email invitation.

Also remember, this is the "off" season now for a lot of teams. Some teams don't meet any more after atlanta, some teams need breaks, many students are starting to prepare for finals or are still trying to catch up from what they missed in Atlanta. The end of the school year is a ROUGH time to run a fundraiser or intrateam activity.

Yeah, i know. Ive also been busy studying for finals, doing a couple research papers, and other non-school related stuff.

On another note, separate from this....

Is there a team in the rochester area that has students from another area/ school on their team?
I am looking to join another local team for next year. I would like to broaden my participation in FIRST and to get a better perspective on how different teams run and do things together (my team doesnt do anything outside of meetings and competition). If you can help, just post here, or feel free to send me a email or a PM
