That sounds like it would be unbelievably fun to get your hands on and play around with! :) Forget AIBO, the new hot toy is going to be LEMUR!

LEMUR was on exhibit in the pits at the Championship in Atlanta, along with the full-scale model of the Mars Exploration Rover. Hopefully, you had a chance to see it there. Yeah, that was the real LEMUR, not a model.

Just FYI, LEMUR and just about every other experimental robot that we use daily at JPL will be on display at JPL's open house this weekend. For logistical reasons we couldn't open up the Mars yard, where we do rover testing, so we created a smaller version of the Mars yard where everyone can check out our experimental rovers performing their magic. More information can be found on JPL's home page.
