2006 Monty Madness NASA Webcast

The biggest surprise of all, Monty Madness will have a NASA webcast!! Thanks to the guys over at NASA and some of the students/parents on our team, we were able to get a webcast for the May 20th competition over here in good ol' Montgomery,New Jersey. So if you can't make the event, be sure to tune in and check out the competition. NASA will have a page up soon about the webcast, watch here for the link:

*Special thanks to the hard working guys over at NASA who made this possible. Also thanks to the hard working guys over on our end that made this webcast possible*

We have Monty Madness candy bars, Polos for volunteers and to top it all off, we have a webcast!!! Can Monty get any madder??!! Yes it can! All you have to do is register, I believe we have one more open slot!! 35 teams is no fun without the 36th!

Aren't the lights above the goal supposed to be on during Autonomous mode?

Re: 2006 Monty Madness NASA Webcast

Someone should inform the cameraman to stop focusing so much on the backbot. THe action is usally happening on the other side of the field.

I just improved the quality of the picture, that is why it stopped. Any other suggestions you have would be great.

Gah, it's so low quality for me :(
I just turned it on, but I can't make out any of the alliance pairings. I'll assume the 2-digit team in alliance 1 is 25 though. :p

By the time of his posts he was just refering to our first 2 losses. If you couldn't tell by the quality of the webcast (I didn't see the quality level) or by the driving style it wasn't Corey, in fact Corey didn't drive at all today until eliminations. Sort of like PARC.

Actually, I drove in the first qualification match at PARC :) . The qualification round that Corey drove in at PARC was one of the rounds against 522.

But Monty was a fun time, and if anyone has any archive of the webcast, I'd like to see it too...

We had a q-match at PARC not with or against team 522?
I knew we atleast had one, I just couldn't recall what round it was.

I'm assuming Ed is referring to the sporadic play by play commentary towards the end of the day. I had to work a 14 hour shift on Friday, got home at 2, left my house for MM at 6, worked there until 6, then worked at my normal job from 7-1....so needless to say I was spent, and all my energy was poured onto the field. That combined with the fact that we were running close to 2.5 hours behind schedule, and the A/V guys turning off my mic, towards the end of the day there was no commentary. In fact Big Mike (aka Primetime) had to shout "the red allaince won the competition" at the end otherwise we had no way of telling the crowd.

haha, big mike's "the red alliance won" was somewhat better than....

THAT DANG RUBBER CHICKEN.

[btw, i was told i had to mention the rubber chicken on CD. i did it, mike.]

For those of you wondering what exactly Libby is referring to...
OMG that chicken freaks me out..

George A. 21-05-2006 23:42

Re: 2006 Monty Madness NASA Webcast

I had nightmares about that chicken...when I woke up i could've sworn that my alarm was the chicken noise...

What those people must've been thinking when they heard that noise on the webcast.
