I SWEAR this is not me

Although my reputation for dancing at competitions is well known, any resemblance between this guy and me is purely coincidental.

haha, this was emailed to me a few days ago. I was entertained by how many songs in that video are regularly heard at competitions. :)

I could do that.. Since I do know about 95% of them songs, and the ones I don't know I can just google lyrics for..

I'm always up for being a hero.. I mean hey; that's why I'm a mentor.*

If my night is unfilled tomorrow, I'll do it then.. Stay tuned!

*You gotta admit, that right there deserves an A followed by the the overuse of a bunch of w's..  :p

Sorry Ty - the IRI talent show is for amateurs only. Neha and Ari have offered me money to dance, which makes me a semi-professional.

OMG I can't believe I missed those; I'll have to put a link to your website in my favorites so I remember to check it more often.

btw - did "Short Stack" catch on yet? C'mon Sean, I'm counting on you.

I got smacked for it at Peachtree, so I guess it's at least partially entered the 116 lexicon.

(and now that I brought it up again, I'm sure I'll be smacked for it again the next time Heidi and I cross paths)

OK, here goes.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm off.
(In some cases where there are multiple artists who sing the song, I'll guess which one it is and who's moves he's trying to imitate)
Personal commentary from me in smaller text.

The Evolution of Dance:
  • Elvis Presley - Hound Dog
  • Chubby Checker - The Twist (Sometimes confused with Chuck Berry, Chubby Checker really did this song)
  • Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (or) Night Fever (They both have the same sound at times, and I can't tell.. it's probably Stayin' Alive though going by his moves)
  • The Village People - YMCA
  • Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting
  • Brady Bunch - Keep On
  • John Travolta & Others from the movie Grease - Greased Lightning
  • AC-DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
  • Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
  • Michael Jackson - Thriller
  • Willy Wonka (Movie) - Oompa Loompa (original movie, not Johnny Depp remake)
  • STYX - Mr. Roboto (Duh :yikes: )
  • (Don't know this one - probably late 80's early 90's break-dancing song)
  • The Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian (From the 80's, and played during the Super Bowl back then when the team The Bengals were in it.)
  • The Chicken Dance - Artist unknown as so many people covered it.
  • Tommy James & The Shondells (or) Billy Idol - Mony Mony
  • Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (he definitely stole that riff from Queen's Under Pressure no matter what he says. Ding ding ding dah dah ding ding. )
  • MC Hammer - U Can't Touch This (anyone remember the MC Hammer cartoon with his talking shoes? Yeah.. ok.. so I'm old. LOL)
  • B-52's - Love Shack
  • Sugar Hill Gang - Apache (not to be confused with Sir-Mix-A-Lot's remake of this song named Jump On It)
  • House Of Pain - Jump Around
  • Sir Mix-A-Lot - Baby Got Back (I Like Big Butts and I cannot lie) LOL
  • Chumbawumba - Tubthumper (yes this is the actual name, I have the CD lol) (I get knocked down, but I get up again, no you're never gonna keep me down)
  • Haddaway - What Is Love? (made famous by Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan on SNL, and then their characters spun off a movie called A Night At The Roxbury)
  • Rednex - Cotton Eyed Joe (another duh if you are in FIRST - you are required to know this song and dance to it..)
  • Los Del Rio - Macarena (I'm with him on that one, it had it's time and now it can retire, and never be played again.)
  • N'Sync - Bye Bye Bye
  • Eminem - Lose Yourself
  • Outkast - Hey Ya (shake it like a Polaroid picture!)
  • Jay-Z - Dirt Off Your Shoulder (why is that in there with all the other "classics"? LOL)
  • Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (revisited - Word to your mother!)
  • N'Sync - Bye Bye Bye (revisited - and that's the end.)
All in all a pretty good mix and a hysterical video!
If anyone knows that break-dancing song, feel free to post what it is.

Re: I SWEAR this is not me

I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at that video. I think the saddest thing is that I knew EVERY song. AND that I recognized the MC Hammer dance!! lol

And I dont know what was funnier, his impression of Karthik doing Apache, or Greg Needel doing Bye Bye Bye ;-)
