I think I speak for all of 1712 when I say that we had a great time! :D Will definitely being coming back in 2007 for our third consecutive year. Thanks to team 153, the pre-rookie, Episcopal Academy for drafting us, and to 1403 for being a great partner as well. We had it. :( however, Hope to see you all at Philly in 2007.

Also thanks to 341 for yet again putting on a great event. As I said before, we will definitely will be there next year.

I think why red may have been doing so well is because before lunch, the blue alliance was testing the 2007 frc radios... which by the way, are currently HUGE! (twice the size of this years, may also just be the prototype!) but red did seem to be the better side of the field to be on. Just my 2 cents. :D

Team 341, thank you so much for putting on another wonderful event. Ramp Riot has always been my favorite off-season and it is obvious to see why. It is extremely well run and the competition is great. I hope that I can make it back next year when I am away to college!

Thank you teams 153 and 1712 for being our alliance partners. You were great to work with!

Thank You Miss Daisy and NASA and everyone else who made it a great day! 341 has the system on hosting an event down, great job again guys it gets better every year. 1403 would also like to thank (again), pre-rookie, Episcopal Academy, 1712, and 433 for a great playoffs!

A couple things about Ramp Riot that the general public might be interested in:
  • IFI Field Tested for the first half of the day, and only for the blue alliance new radios. So, yes an update of the current radio modem like so, is happening. It looks pretty cool and one can speculate that a new controller is likely to follow for 2007.
  • AndyMark showed off a few products for the upcoming season:
    • Performance Traction Wheels
      • A super-duper looking 6 spoke aluminum wheel
      • These things just look good.
    • Coolie Duelies
      • The only way to describe these new style omni-wheels without a picture is to say... double up an omniwheel, bend it like the AndyMark Mecanums so that its angled like an omniwheel
      • What makes them different from normal omni-wheels is that you can adjust the tightness on each individual omni, so you can vary how much lateral movement you have, pretty nifty look for pictures.
    • Aluminum Omni Wheel
  • For all of you Hint Fanatics
    • Dave Lavery had a nice speech on how the Mars Rover is lasting so long and is completely surprising their original estimates. So you can now you can speculate on an Endurance Style Game.
    • Dave also had a banana in his pocket (I didn't see it, but I sure heard stories)
Ok I'm gonna end the post the way I should end it, Thank You Miss Daisy!!!

I didn't see it either, but for some reason the banana was given to me afterwards. (Probably because they think I stalk Dave--I don't--and they thought I would enjoy the souvenier.)

The banana was the second thing I noticed. The first was that Dave's shirt sleeves had tropical fish on them...

But I would definitely like to thank team 341 for hosting another amazing off season event. RAGE had a lot of fun, and who knew we could push the ramp in auto either?

Team 104 had a great time at Ramp Riot. It was really well organized and well run. We'd like thank Teams 423 and 341 for being such great alliance partners. I'm sad that I'm a senior and that this was my first and only Ramp Riot. But I'm sure my team will be back next year...

Re: Ramp Riot 2006: The Official Thread

To the FRC and FVC Teams of Ramp Riot 2006:

Thank you for attending Ramp Riot 2006 and for bringing your incredible spirit to the event. We just wanted to say that this year's Ramp Riot was the best ever and its all because of YOU!! Your graciousness on and off the field was noticed by everyone including our overworked field crew.
Your enthusiasm and hard work inspired our newest rookie members. You also inspired the kids of Episcopal Academy so much that they are going to register for FRC 2007. Their original plan was to enter in 2008, but watching you changed their minds.
56 teams from 7 states converged on Wissahickon this past weekend. The event operated 1 FRC field and 2 FVC fields simultaneously. Ramp Riot also raised 900 food cans for the Ambler Cupboard largely due to your efforts. As we approach the new season, it is important to know that this is what we can acheive when we work together. Its simply amazing.
Shortly I will send out a list of organizations that helped us pull off this amazing feat. Team 341 is certainly grateful for their help and we encourage you to write to them as well.
But until we assemble this list, I just want to say... THANK YOU to Mike Wade. This event is possible only through his kindness and dedication to FIRST. We could not do this without him!
Thank you again to everyone that attended this year!!
You are the spirit of Ramp Riot 2006!

Al Ostrow

Very impressive, Miss Daisy. It was my first Ramp Riot, and it should be able to go unstated that I'll be making an effort to be back next year.

Thanks 341 for a great event!
