Re: Post your REAL desktop

Here's mine...

Yes, that is a wired router, it's sad, I know, but it works well.
And the giant printer/scanner/copier to the left of my desk is hooked up to the computer in the background.
My monitor is a 17" (hp vs17), LCD, with built in stereo speakers.
And when I got the desk, there was originally a shelf, but it was too low for the comp to fit under/above, so I custom built the drawer that's there now. [It basically just has all my junk in it - unread manuals, mousepads, a spindle of cd-r discs, new unused ethernet cable, camera, and whatever else I throw in there.]
There really isn't enough desk space to actually do school work, etc., so I tend to end up doing it on the couch in the background. :D

Messy, rasterized pics for a messy, rasterized (not so much) desk.

i have probably one of the most disorganized desks ever. you can see it here.
the pic is a little big, but without it being big you don't see the funny little things.

Here's a picture of my current desktop:

The computer is a homebuilt Athlon64 in a Lian Li case, with 1gb ram, and half a terrabyte of storage. Dual monitors are piped through a GeForce 6800. The cd-rom drive has been stealthed to maintain the monolithic black look. In fact, I even gave the computer a WINS name of MONOLITH.

interesting side note: The certificate you can see in the upper right corner is from a middle school spaghetti bridge competition.

Printer and Computer. Yeah, the case came like that. (I'm software, not mechanical. :P )
The printer only prints in black and pink. If set in color mode, it will print grey in pink. Any help on this would be appreciated. (It's not the color cartrige)
The magazine in the 2nd pic I got for 5€. The DVD that came with it comes with 20 of "the best 30-day free trials" and a program that allows you to use 30-day free trials forever.

Part of my computer and my monitor, my mouse, and my keyboard. I got the mousepad at Battlecry 7.
The batteries are there because as some of you may know, cordless mice *always* run out of batteries while you're playing an FPS.
Part of my chair is in the 2nd pic.

Close-up of my monitor.
It's raining men! Hallelujah, it's raining men! Amen!
The pic on the monitor is a clip from the "Mine" video. And yes, it's VLC media player.

An old computer I installed Ubuntu on, and my laptop.

Close-up of the laptop. The mouse is labeled "Mouse", the laptop is labeled "Eric's Laptop" The magazine I got for 5€ (approx. $6.50) in Germany. It came with a DVD that supposedly has the full versions of Söldner: Secret Wars and Gorky Zero.

Sorry for the bit of a rez here, but I wanted to most my temporary summer setup. Since me and my brother are nose to the grindwheel on some exciting projects, we decided we need the ultimate development setup. After a few hours wrangling with BIOS settings so a PCI-e and PCI graphics card would get along:

Nothing fancy, just one monitor, no laptop, but I DO have a Pathfinder poster on the wall! (So there!) oh yeah, and:

One sexy case
Athlon 64 3800+
Abit AN8 SLI
1GB PC2700 RAM (so slow)
eVGA PCI-e graphics card w/ NVidia GeForce 7900 GT (KO)
Creative Soundblaster Live! sound card
5.1 surround

Of course the most valuable thing on the desk is that quadrille notebook next to the tower. It's full of MORT sketches...
