River Rage 10!!!

Hello everyone!

The River Rage committee (Manchester Memorial, West, Central, and Trinity High Schools) is pleased to announce that for its 10th Anniversary year, River Rage will be held at Memorial High School in Manchester, NH on October 28th, 2006. This is the oldest and longest running offseason event in FIRST history! This year, we will be celebrating the anniversary in what will be one amazing competition. As we did last year, this year will have a Halloween theme at the same great historic venue (Memorial was the host to the very first National Championship). Entry fee will be 200 dollars, and there will be lots of food, excitement, and suprises!

Hope to see you all there.

River Rage is still well on mark to be an excelent time this year. Still on the date stated above at the same location. Last I checked we had about 20 teams signed up...and that was 2 weeks ago. I'll see if I can get a full team list up. Features for this years River Rage include...

-Robot and team halloween costume competition
-Human Player competition
-Double elimination tournament instead of normal elimination rounds.
-Announcer/Emcee idol!
-Other surprises???

Should be a great time, its the oldest running offseason competition in the history of FIRST! Come be a part of the history at River Rage 10!

I just got word unfortunately Team 237 will not be competing at River Rage. :(

But... a few former and current members will be up there reffing, present company included.
So far we have what seems to be a great crew reffing River Rage this year.
(Am I biased?? Of course! lol)

It should be a great time for all!

Good luck to all teams! And although I don't take cash bribes, some nice home made cookies always hit the spot.*

*I"m kidding of course. About bribes from teams that is. I won't accept anything. I was directing the cookie request right to Jess Boucher herself!!! Pretty please Jess??? I mean c'mon. It's 2 days before my Birthday! :D

Just remember, the Head Referee must approve all bribe payments, and gets 70%.

:D

No really, the ref crew is going to be great, and River Rage 10 is going to be an absolute blast! I can't wait to see everyone there.

You see, if you give an Elgin a cookie, then Elgin will tell Teddles, and Teddles will want a cookie, then Teddles will tell Foley, and Foley will want a cookie...

So, setup the field, or make cookies?

I don't know exactly what my role will be this year, but I hope team 237 doesn't try to kill me with their bot this year :p. Can't wait!

And Jess, Make cookies friday during the day and bring them and tell people they can't have any until they finish setting up the field.

It will be done in record time. :D There is no greater motivation than fine homecooking.

Anyways, can someone give me an address of the school it is being held at for driving direction purposes?

Thanks

On behalf of team 1519, I would like to (somewhat belatedly :) ) thank the Manchester FIRST teams and all the other volunteers that helped make River Rage 10 possible! This is truly a great tournament and the field crew handled a couple of field problems extremely well. Thank you!

Speaking for all the referees, I want to thank all the teams for playing fair and in the true spirit of FIRST all day long during River Rage.

There were very little warnings given out to teams and even fewer penalties.
(Always a great thing to hear as a ref!)

Thanks for making it a great event teams!

Also, if anyone has any pics of the ref crew or any part of River Rage 10 for that matter, go ahead and link or upload them.
