Multi-Platform Robot Programming

Saw this on Engadget earlier. Supposedly, the National Robotics Engineering Center is developing a programming language that will work with Vex, Mindstorms, and NXT. Interesting concept, IMO. I'd like to see where this goes from here, if it fizzles or really picks up.

Just read that myself. This seems too relevant to be kept hiding in the programming forum.

Re: Multi-Platform Robot Programming

I suppose this is to simplify moving from one platform to another for students, not for coding code that will run on all three? How would they handle the difference in number of outputs and the way sensors gather data?

That being said, it sounds like a perfect tool for moving students through different phases of learning about robots. Cool!
