Team Database

I am currently working on a database (in MS Access) for each team. It will keep track of all the member on the team as well as all the parts on the robot. I am wondering who or what teams may be intreased in using it? if you have any suggestions or would like to see what is done of it, reply or send me an email at zak.priddy@gmail.com

Thank you!

I'm slightly confused. Is this the same thing idea as the FIRST Scouting Network or is it more like the FIRST Contact Database or, is it intended for keeping track of sub-teams of your own team and who's signed out/built parts?

It is neither, It is used for your own team, to keep track of all of the team members information, ex. name, email, phone... ext..
it is also used for keeping track of the parts used on your robot so when you need a listing of all the parts used then you just press print. its main intention is to keep each team neatly orginized.

I like that idea. It would be good to use if you want to get ahold of everyone on the team for fund raising or something. Plus, if you're anything like me, you've got people's names and phone numbers and everything written on different pieces of paper that get thrown away or scattered around. Should've seen my locker in school... :yikes:

Re: Team Database

We did something like that last summer.
When you click on someone's name, it looks like this
Quote:

Name: Santosh Reddy
Grade: 11
Team: FIRST
Email: therealsantosh@gmail.com
Home Phone: 770 499 0353
Second Phone: 404 452 5517
Preferred Phone: second
AIM: therealsantosh
MSN:
YIM:
ICQ: 0
Site: www.circuitrunners.com
The team member who made it has it so when you click on a team name, it pulls up everyone on that team, if you click on a grade it does the same thing.
If you want to take a look at it, just pm me.

Definitely interested! I know our coach would like something like this, and we were planning on making a database for parts. Keep us posted!

Re: Team Database

Is there anyway that the database could be used without the person accessing it being able to change the information? Please let me know via PM or post.

Thanks,

Corey

Yes, There are two different options when you come up to the welcome screen, one is to View Student Information the other is to Edit Information, and if requested i could even create a second database that links to the first one that all you could do is view the data and have the first one password protected or even set admin rights on one database,

Thx,
-Zak
