Yes, I captured this photo off the 2006 FLL Challenge Project Training Video. Hopefully this purpose is acceptable under the "fair use" provisions of copyright law... I wouldn't want to upset the FIRST lawyers!

Hey Ken. Good to see your mug again. I take it this is some kind of training or promo video you're in? Where can it be seen?

This year's registration package for FIRST Lego League teams includes three "training" items. These packages just started shipping last week for early registrants. The training items include:
1 - FIRST Lego League Coaches' Handbook
2 - FIRST Lego League Challenge Project Training DVD
3 - 2006 FIRST Compilation DVD

The "Challenge Project Training DVD" (item 2 above) includes interviews with me (as a veteran FLL coach) and Marti Wolf (a rookie FLL coach) as well as some of the students on her rookie team (Chaotic Robotics) and our veteran team, Mindstorms Mayhem. My "Who Am I?" photo is a screen capture from that interview.

Since these items are included with the registration package, all 7000+ FLL teams should get a copy and can watch the whole video if they can stay awake through my interview!

I'm not sure many of the comments I make in the interviews on the video are particularly helpful -- the editors ended up keeping the inspirational / motivational parts of the interview, and put most of the "content tips" that I discussed into the "training" part of the DVD. A very helpful inclusion on the challenge project training DVD are five different actual research presentations from last year's "Ocean Odyssey" FLL tournament. This should be a big help to rookie teams to have an idea of what a project presentation looks like...

Thanks for asking!

Is it possible to get a copy of this DVD before registration? I'm going to be starting up an FLL team this year and having something like this would be helpful as something to show the principal/partner teacher/what not at the elementary school(s) to try and get them on board [I'm doing it with a student organisation at university and we haven't decided which area school to do it at, yet].
