Re: Ew, Spiders!
Do it the good ol' American way and throw money at the problem. In other words, get out of there and call a professional to take care of it.
If you don't want to do that, perhaps WD-40? It is good for all sorts of things... |

Grab a wok, a little butter, some garlic, and fry 'em up! They are quite tasty, and have lots of protein. -dave |

Re: Ew, Spiders!
Unless you have food or something else up in the attic area to draw them the only thing I can think of is they're coming inside due to all the rain we've had lately. Even the bugs get tired of being wet. If you find where they're coming in or at least a path that they're using then the cleaner should help bring them under control. If you still see them after a few days then there's a hidden breeding ground somewhere.

Did it look something like this?

Re: Ew, Spiders!
^those are daddy longlegs. They just provide the creep effect but won't hurt you - but you said 'little' spiders.
I think with an infestation, you should probably call someone - - be careful how many things you decide to spray in that closed in area, you could end up poisoning your self. Jane |
Re: Ew, Spiders!
Just be happy you don't have camel spiders. Now those things are beasts, can move 10mph, no venom but rely on stealth, speed, and their powerful jaws to get their prey. But how can they rely on stealth when they look like this, is beyond me.

I like the military manual on dealing with them: Don't spray them with bug spray. YOU'LL JUST MAKE THEM MAD! :ahh: |

Re: Ew, Spiders!
That was one of the myths
Myth 1: "Camel spiders can grow to be as large as dinner plates. " Myth 2: "Camel spiders can traverse desert sand at speeds up to 25 MPH, making screaming noises as they run." Myth 3: "Camel spiders can jump several feet in the air. " Myth 4: "Camel spiders eat the stomachs of camels and lay their eggs there, hence the name "camel spider." (Legend includes the detail that camel spiders eat camel stomachs from either the outside in or the inside out. In the former case they supposedly jump up from the ground and grab onto camels' bellies from underneath; in the latter case exactly how spiders allegedly as large as dinner plates get into camels' stomachs intact remains unexplained.) " Myth 5: "Camel spiders are venomous, and their venom contains a powerful anesthetic that numbs their victims (thus allowing them to gnaw away at living, immobilized animals without being noticed). U.S. soldiers were said to have been attacked by camel spiders at night but remained completely unaware of their plight until they awakened in the morning to find chunks of their flesh missing. " All fortunately are false, they were named camel spiders because they are found in the desert. They can have a 5"-6" leg span, make no noise, no venom. Also no jumping, but it is still a fierce creature. |
Re: Ew, Spiders!
Oddly enough, this movie was on late 2 nights ago... I think on TNT. Maybe the spiders are starting an invasion.
