Inspiring companies to help

Andy & Al,
Thanks for the comments. It really means alot coming from you two guys.
One hope we have in relating this experience is to perhaps provide some insight into what it takes to pursue this goal. There seems to be a great deal of interest among individual teams to expand globally. Despite our success and satisfaction, it is a daunting task with an uncertain future.
Everything we have done so far should be considered an experiment. This exchange can't really be considered a complete success unless it turns from an experiment into a PROGRAM.
For this to turn into a program will require tremendous support. Our coaches and students dug deep into thier own pockets to put this trip together. We also risked competition funds to discount student tickets and ship the robot. We did this because we see the value and I certainly don't regret this decision.
However the reality is clear. For this work to continue, teams will have to find corporations with a common interest in that country.
We are now desparately trying to find support for this project. That was our purpose in going to the the US Embassy and other US trade organizations in Singapore. We are seeking US companies that do business in Singapore, that want to strengthen ties with the country. This is not an easy task to perform from across the ocean. The search continues.
