Quite possibly the best movie i've ever seen! I was at a loss for words. Did anyone else see the preview for another weird movie with Sam L. Jackson in it, called black snake something?

Black Snake Moan. At first I thought it was a joke, the trailer so neatly coupled with SoaP, especially with the "snake" title and SLJ. Apparently not.

Is it worth trying to find the trailer?

Uhh

Wow.

Umm I'm not sure what to say. Best movie in a long long time, I know our relatively small (like 50-75 people) audience had a standing ovation when the line of which cannot be spoken was said.

Not good.

Looks like SoaP can be classified as a Box Office dissapointment:

1. "Invincible," $17 million.

2. "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," $8 million.

3. "Little Miss Sunshine," $7.5 million.

4 (tie). "Beerfest," $6.5 million.

4 (tie). "Accepted," $6.5 million.

6. "Snakes on a Plane," $6.4 million.

7. "World Trade Center," $6.39 million.

8. "Step Up," $6.2 million.

9. "Idlewild," $5.9 million.

10. "Barnyard: The Original Party Animals," $5.4 million.

It'll be classifed as a cult classic but it's obvious the general public didn't get it.

I thought the movie was awsome. Everyone gave me these weird looks like I'm crazy and told me they're not seeing because it looked cheesy. ... DUH!

Maybe he developed a taste for movies with the word 'Snake' in the name? Did anyone see him on the Daily Show? He was having a grand 'ole time discussing the movie... -snickers-

Anyway, not sure if this was already brought up, but...

http://www.boingboing.net/2006/08/21..._plane_th.html

I'm not going to quote it 'cuz it contains some swears (mainly in refrence to Samuel L. Jackson's particular line in the movie about opening windows...), but its basically an article about the aftermath, with a list of ways to use the phrase 'snakes on a plane', with things like...
Quote:

2) Fraud -- "I got snaked on a plane by the car dealer."
Quote:

17) Apathy -- "Who really gives a snake on a plane, anyhow?"
and
Quote:

12) Lost -- "Where are we going and why are there snakes on a plane?"

There's also the SoaP participation script, http://snakeplay.pbwiki.com/script, which is a bit too long to quote here, but funny nonetheless. Did anyone here go to one of the midnight opening-day screenings where you actually saw anyone use this? I'm curious to see how far the cult is spread...

---

Anyway, I saw the movie about two days after it came out, and despite it being early in the day in the middle of the week, the theatre was still pretty full a good fifteen minutes before it was even set to start...

And when the line came up, everyone just broke into applause...

Did anyone see the trailer on Movie Trailers on Demand? Its so serious... until they say 'but none of these movies have snakes... on a plane', or something to that effect.

I saw it and I thought it was amazing. I thought it was one of the most unique films I had seen in a long time. Sure it had the typical movie scenarious, but come on. Snakes on a Plane. fantastic title. fantastic movie. people were getting killed in some of the most innovative ways I have ever seen. not to ruin the movie for others...but that guy with the high-heel to the ear? AMAZING. IT ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND. I was totally stunned in my seat.

and then that line! BEST MOVIE CATCH PHRASE EVER. ENOUGH SAID. SAMUEL L. JACKSON IS OFFICIALLY THE MAN.
come on, it's freakin awesome.

it was so awesome. sweet.

I just saw it, an honestly, i thought it was so B-grade that it was funny, but it was by no means a good movie. Like Napoleon dynamite, there are people who will love it, but it has the worst acting and pointless scenes possible.

Some of the deaths were unnecessary. The snakes were freaking flying at people. There was no character development, and he plot was feeble at best. I want that hour and a half of my life back.

That said, it did make me laugh from time to time.

Yeah it may not sell at the theaters but when it comes out on DVD it is going to be a smash. It going to be like Clerks.

Um...wasn't that the point?

If you go in expecting a plot, you're going to be very disappointed. I, however, went to just see a bunch of snakes...on a plane...killing people and being killed by Samuel L. Jackson. I didn't go in and expect to see characters with depth or meaningful scenes. Because that wasn't the point of the movie.

What - you were expecting Citizen Kane???

You saw snakes. On a plane. They didn't lie. C'mon Phil, you know you liked it. And this year you just KNOW that the team theme will be "Snakes On A Robot"
