Depending on where you live geographically, you may need to go to www.usfirst.org instead of usfirst.org. At home when I go to usfirst.org it works fine, but my school has a different ISP that doesn't have the proper DNS set up, so you need to use www.usfirst.org. I've found the same thing at various hotels I've checked it from, so try both.

perhaps you were trying usfirsts.org (like how you spelled the thread title) That wouldn't work. And yes, you do need the www. because FIRST's host (MV Communications) is stupid.

You do realize that www.example.com and example.com are intended to be distinct, right? The www subdomain is conventionally used for most traffic, but there might be a good reason to redirect a request for example.com to intranet.example.com, or northamerica.example.com, or mail.example.com, or to a page that lets you choose between www and any of the above. The point being, if FIRST didn't specify that they wanted that redirected, it's not MV's fault that it doesn't exist. It might not be a bad idea for MV to tell FIRST (as a courtesy) that they might want the redirect, but there's no basis to believe that MV is stupid.
