Team 1114 stayed at the Hampton in on 82nd street, just down the road from the Hilton, for the second year in a row. I highly recommend this hotel to all teams.

- Close to the venue
- Free wi-fi
- Free hot breakfast (not continental)
- Indoor swimming pool
- Reasonable room rates $104/night for two double beds

My wife and I stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. The highway noise was very loud. Another of the mysteries of motel construction is why the windows and window coverings can't be insulated a little better.

One of the teams staying there had issues with the room configuration as mentioned about other hotels.

Wow... this is great input. I thought you guys all liked the Hilton (formerly the Omni). We need to listen better.

half the people that worked there didn't speak English
housekeeping always came extremely early
skimpy Continental breakfast
really loud fan in the bathroom

Overall, though, I didn't think it was that bad.

I'll second the skimpy continental breakfast, but at $49 a night, you really cant complain too much. As for the housekeeping, I was out of there by 7:45 (at the latest) each morning so I didn't have a problem with the housekeeping.

I noticed that it seemed like every other room had a clock. My room had a clock, and the guys down the hall from me had one, but it seemed like everyone else I talked to didn't. I found that rather odd.

I stayed at the Hilton in previous years and I really wasn't too impressed. As long as the Super 8 rate stays in place (well even its regular rate is cheaper than the Hilton special rate), I'll be staying there instead.

It provided the absolute needs for what I needed: a decent bed and a shower.

I've had a good experience at the Super 8 for the past 2 years after having stayed in the Omni/Hilton the previous years. For the cheap price I can't complain and all I really need is somewhere to sleep and shower.

I'm pretty sure we had a clock in our room, but since I use my cell phone for an alarm clock one wasn't necessary. The one thing I did notice was that the one night when I wanted to watch TV I couldn't find the remote control.

yea my boyfriend and i both used our cell phones for alarms but it just seemed odd to me that they didn't have a clock because i guess that's something i always thought a hotel would have. but we made due just fine and still always made it to iri on time. :D
