Yeah I was wondering the same thing earlier, but didn't have time to ask. It would be nice if there is a link or if anyone who has it or know anyone who has it would post it. Thanks. :)

We talked to a mentor from team 71 and he had taped every match for strategy purposes. We got his email address but I dont know when we'll hear anything from him. I'm as anxious as the rest to watch those matches again.

Yeah being a driver on my team I really dont remember the matches. I know one match that the thunderchickens pined us in the corner for a little bit, My driving partner (Tim) was screeming, We were on the blue allience and got 133-137, And the beast was on the ramp. Other than that I dont know what the pink team did or where 910 was the whole time. I gues I was so focused on driving and I guess that a good thing.

[QUTOE=hill]I'll ask the member of my team who has his email if he has contcted him yet or not. [/quote]

I emailed him but he hasn't replied so im going to start trying other ways of contacting them if I dont get it in a few days. When I do get the tapes I have some editing software I can run it through and put it on youtube or some other website.

You might try contacting someone from Wildstang, seeing as how they were hosting the webcast.

Re: IRI webcast archive

Alright everyone here's the scoop. The DVD I got from the guy on 71 didn't work on my DVD players and a number of other computers. I assumed that the DVD was burned on a MAC and might have been burned as a PAL codec and for some reason that was either messing with my computer or it was corrupted. We now found a computer that plays it and the computer is currently turning the DVD format into a .avi NSTC format. After I convert it I will run it through Adobe Premiere and shrink it down to a uploading format onto youtube.com.

The footage is good and captures the entire field behind the blue alliance. Sadly there is no footage of any of the Wild stang vs Pink or any other matches on that bracket. The footage is only the matches with team 71 in it which is understandable. If I taking footage for my team I would be only worried about recording my teams matches.

There is the 133 - 137 match on there and i must say it is really an awsome sight.

I will hopefully upload the footage within the next two weeks.

I've successfully encoded the dvd into mp4 format. I am giving it to buddyb309 today to chop up into matches, maybe encode it again into something else, then upload it. shouldn't take more than 2 days.

OMG this is given me the worst headache ever. MP4 is not working because I need a .avi. I worked hard on it today but my stupid programs does not work with .mpeg4 because I cant get quicktime to work with windows x64. I have a friends who has a program that might work. Im going to his house Monday.

Try using the RAD Video Tools . They can read almost everything, and you can export it as either uncompressed video, or using any codec you have installed on your system. Check videohelp.com if you need help with how to work it.

Video encoded but there is no sound. so I'm re-encodeding it with audio and that will take at most 2 hours, videos will then be posted shortly after. Or if I get enough PMs I will just put the video on youtube with no sound and music of my choice playing in the background. I will also create a new thread announcing the premiere of the IRI footage.

Personally, I vote for the version with audio because the announcer commentary adds a lot to the match.

Thanks for going through all this effort to digitize these. I eagerly await watching :D .

Re: IRI webcast archive

I'm going to cry..... I did re-encode the video and it came out with audio.

BUT STUPID ADOBE PREMIERE OR ANY OF MY OTHER VIDEO EDITING PROGRAMS DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE VIDEO CODEC!!!!!!!!!

argh...... re-encoding with Divix codec maybe that will work. If it doesn't I'm spitting the files out in short segments so then maybe youtube will accept divix. Divix and this other codec I've never heard of are the only ones I have to work with. expect it to be Up and running very very late tonight 11:30 eastern, or tomorrow at 9:00 pm ish eastern. I have work tomorrow and Then I teach a 3ds max class after wards.

Im also trying RAD video it says it has 3 hours and 57 mins left to go :ahh:

Or I can hold an auction for the DVD bidding starts at $50 ;) (just kidding)

Greg Marra 08-08-2006 23:28

Re: IRI webcast archive

If it helps, YouTube prefers video encoded as an AVI with the XVid video codec (available free) and MP3 audio.

Also, maybe you should just do one clip, then see if it works, then do the rest. That way you only need to mess with the encoding on one instead of all until you find what works.

Re: IRI webcast archive

I put on what I manged to come up with last night. Not much I'm still working on this thing. The problem with video and programs is that its a 3-5 hour wild stab in the dark. With work and everything else I only get one try a day. hopefully I'll get Lucky and manage to succeed tonight so that tomorrow i can put it up.

you know if you use your ati avivo video converter it should only take a few minutes to encode each match

But getting to the piont where I can slice it up to separate matches is one of my many problems.

I'm getting a new program that seems promising

Why not chop it and then convert it? Seems less painful.

If I could already chop it Then i wouldn't need to convert it first.

I guess I don't see why you can't chop it in whatever bad codec it is in the first place. Here is what I would do from beginning to end:

1) Rip DVD video. This produces an MPEG2 file.
2) Take MPEG2 into video editing software (I use Premiere Elements).
3) Crop video clip to only be one match, about three minutes of timeline.
4) Double check audio sync, manually tweak if necessary (MPEG2 doesn't play nice for me sometimes)
5) Export from Premiere in Full DV codec (this seems to be the only way for me to get MPEG2 out of it alive). NTSC file system helps here, since FAT32 has a 4GB max file size. It drove me nuts exporting NERD Vision 4 to figure out why the 'disk full' error appeared with 30gb free.
6) Take the DV into VirtualDub. Apply a 2:1 reduction filter.
7) Convert to an XVid / MP3 avi file. Change bitrate to about 500kbps for still high-quality video, but small enough to fit under YouTubes 100mb cap.
8) Upload to YouTube.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

problems with the video

1) can only rip it to mp4, avi with divix or xi....something. premiere doesn't recognize either of them.
2) the only program i can find to convert it (river past video cleaner) likes to crash
3) sometimes for no reason it exports just audio or just video. or this
4) Quality is being massacred it hurts me to see the video this way.

I found a way that is sort of working. I should have results in the next 2 hours. I will try to put the 133 - 137 match up tonight if it works.
