Sound Sensor

Hey it's been a while since I've posted here...

I've been given the task of finding a sensor from digikey that can react to a piezo buzzer (3khz to 4khz) that works with the current FRC gear.

I see they have a lot of microphones but I'm not sure how to sort them all out.

Thanks

Re: Sound Sensor

You need to be a little more specific in your question. What is the use for this device? What is the environment in which it will be used? etc...

Re: Sound Sensor

you will need more than a microphone (the robot controller does not have any inputs that would accept a microphone signal).

You would need to filter the audio signal, and convert it to something like a varying DC level signal, proportional to the level of the 3 or 4kHz sound.

How sensitive it needs to be, what other audio sounds will be present, the type of output (analog or digital....) would all be defined by your intended application, as Al inidicated.

What is the problem / requirement that this sensor is intended to solve?
