No Dessert in the Desert!

All the Krispy Kreme Donut Stores in Arizona closed last week. We must go to Vegas for fresh KK's. Can anyone recommend "brain food" for build season? Thank goodness we still have Mountain Dew!

It would be strange to see a desertless desert! ;)

However, a dessertless desert - now that's just sad! :(

Ouch, that hurts! (So I suppose that Dave won't be coming to the Arizona Regional anytime soon...)

My mom suggests Twinkies and Moon Pies. To that list I can add Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tarts and Easy Mac. Granted, they're not as good as Krispy Kremes, but they can at least keep you sane until you're next able to eat a proper meal.

well if your talking "brain"-food, why not try some brain? :D i mean its a delicacy in some places... jk, but we seemed to get by on lots and lots of 2 liter bottles of some caffeinated beverage. and we know exactly how it feels for the local Krispy Kreme to close, b/c ours closed and there are a couple of us on the team who are having some withdrawls after that, especially Ira... lol

I am major into jalapeno flavored potato chips but you need tons of Diet Coke with Lime to put the fire out.

If you can't get Krispy Kreme's in Arizona any more, then there is only one alternative for great brain food. Blair's Death Rain Habanero Potato Chips. Yes, they are so good I get them via mail order, since none of the stores around here carry them. Eat just one, and you are hooked for life. Eat two, and your tounge will need a trip to the burn ward.

I've been known to grow a few habeneros myself. Hmm....this is awkward for me, but I just may need to praise Dave for his taste on this one. Heading for the Batphone to place an order... ;)

hmm... going out on a limb here...

What about a green salad with lots of greens, beans, peppers, mushroom, corn, carrot, and all the other good stuff? Or some whole grain/multi-grain bread?

How about fruits? You remember those, right? Apple, banana, California Avocado, grapes, grape fruit, kiwi, mango, orange, papaya, pear, plums, strawberry, water melon?

Or a nice piece of fish with lots of Omega 3 fatty acid? You ever think about that?

I say No to dessert in the desert!

(This is a friendly reminder from the state of California where all the health nuts plus Ken Leung are located.)

I"m partial to chocolate chip cookies....or sugar cookies....Just get the kind from the refrigerated section and throw them in the oven. When they are nice and warm and gooey. Not KK, but very close. cold milk to wash them down with.

I agree completely. Gotta love the mouth watering sensation from good fruits and veggies plus the body maintenance provided by the other above listed foods.

But then again, if you would like, you can make a Peanut Butter and Syrup sandwich. Relatively sweet and good tasting. I dunno if anyone on these boards has tried it, but its worth it garunteed. Be sure to have milk right next to you.

Or... if that doesn't work, there's always Moose Tracks Ice Cream, and apple fritters or cinnamon rolls from a local gas station or something.

Does Krispy Kreme have a deal with casinos? Is that why you now have to go to Vegas for them? I ask because the other night I went to Mohegan Sun casino here in Connecticut and the first thing I see is a big old Krispy Kreme store which surprised me mainly because everywhere else I looked there was just Dunkin' Donuts. Donuts taste good after winning at the slots, by the way...

As for other brain food, you just can't go wrong with dill pickles... or maybe that's just me...

You can never go wrong with Moose Tracks. Or just plain old chocolate for that matter. We are hosting a foreign exchange student from Germany for the year, and while we took her for her very first Krispy Kreme (the "Hot Fresh Now" kind)on her second day here, she brought some of the most delicious milk chocolate from Germany with her. The trade was more than fair. :D

My team doesn't run on KK. The closest store is on the other side of Davenport and we are all too lazy to get some. But we like Whitey's Ice Cream. Not because we get it for free, but because it's the best ice cream in the world. They have like... every flavor imaginable, and they even have the first ice cream dedicated to diabetics. And there's locations all across the Quad Cities. But we get it in 5 gallon tubs and never know what kind it is. Sometimes it's multiflavor. Yum! LOL... it's just the remnants of what they made but couldn't fit in another 5 gallon container.

They don't sell Coke with Lime in the QCA anymore. My brother loves the stuff and we went on a mission to find it but it was nowhere to be seen. Good thing because I hate the stuff.

I can go for years on Chex Mix. Try different flavours if if people start getting bored.

For long nights use Bawls, buy em at the local CompUSA if they have em, if not, they are just as expensive online at Thinkgeek.com.

And the best food to have, Pizza.

Ok, so I must not be well informed. Is there a particular reason why they closed like a new bill or something?
