Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
Hey,
I looked everywhere for #35 Chains, and I just cannot seem to find an online store that sells them (or a trustworthy online store). The first placed I tired was the IFR Robotics, and they seemed to be out of stock for the year, and then I tired eBay, but the sellers do not ship to Canada. So. If you know a place, or an online store that sells and ships to Canada, I would appreciate your reply =) -Dave |
Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
if you want to order online i would normally suggest Innovation FIRST but they appear to be out of stock, try McMaster-Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/

Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
In addition to McMaster-Carr, MSC Direct sells roller chain, as does Motion Industries and Grainger.

Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
www.mscdirect.com also have chain, but only in 10' lengths.

Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
We purchase the chain at a local hardware store such as Lowes or Home Depot. They also have the links in stock. We do use McMaster Carr. They ship very fast with credit card purchase. Most places require you to purchase at least 10' in the box.

Small Parts Inc also carries it. :)

Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
Tractor Supply Co. They usually have a number of different sizes & if you have one in your area they also have 1/2 links & master links. (cheaper prices also, farmers don't pay more than the generally have to)

I go to a local lawn mower shop to get the chain.

Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
Why online? You'll be able to suggest that you're from a FIRST team and deserve a discount, if you speak to them by phone, or better, in person. (It works.)
Canadian Bearings (They have lots of stock.) Motion Industries Ontario Belting and Power Transmission (These guys also have a Scarborough location.) And places like Brafasco or Fastenal might also sell it. Call ahead to confirm stock. McMaster-Carr, SDP/SI also sell it, but you'll pay a premium, both because they don't specialize in it, and because it's shipped from the U.S.. |
Re: Where Could I Purchase #35 Chain?
best quality chain is form mcmaster-carr we have used it and have never had a problem with it, no breaks or snags

#35 chain - Northern Tool $10/box of 10 feet w/ one master link: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...9474_200139474
#35 chain - Surplus Center $13/box of 10 feet w/ one master link: http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.as...ame=powerTrans #35 chain - Surplus Center various other types (double, stainless, etc.): http://www.surpluscenter.com/sort.as...k eyword=PC35 #35 links - Surplus Center ($.35 master links, etc.): http://www.surpluscenter.com/sort.as...k eyword=PL35 Surplus Center also has sprockets and other stuff cheaper than McMaster-Carr and MSC. I have used the chain and links from Northern Tool and Surplus Center and it works fine. No failures at all. It is not Browning but doesn't cost as much either. BTW: Nothern Tool is also a good place for wheels and sprockets. Look around in their Go-Cart parts section. Also, don't forget a chain breaker like this: http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.as...i tem=14-1037 It is an invaluable "special tool" for any FIRST tool box! |

I find that ours often ends up bending the link instead of pushing the pin out, due to the anvil being too large. |
