Dawgma Promo Video

Hey Everybody,

It's been a while since I've been a Chief Delphi, but the new school year is coming up, meaning a whole bunch of stuff needs to be done for FIRST. This is a video that I created to show during Freshman Orientation (Which was today), and to new members thinking about joining our team. So, I put it onto Google Video for you all to see and hope to hear some feedback about it. Hope you enjoy!

As Chuck mentioned, I did have a few issues with the tapes I was using to edit. The reason why I have no actual audio taken from the tapes was due to an issue with the camera recording the footage from Philly. Since it was a school district camera, and get's brought around to a whole bunch of different events, something was broken with the mic that's built it. This meant that the audio was sketchy at best, with their being almost no audio at all at some points.I also had problems with some of the tapes from Ramp Riot, where the tapes themselves are starting to go bad and corrupting the video that's on them.

Other than those problems with the tapes, our school district lets us borrow some really good equipment when we go to shoot video. For Philly, they let us use a Canon 20D for still shots and a Canon GL-2 for video. We also get to use Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, which is an amazing program to edit with.

Speaking for a team that does a ton of video work, you guys did an awesome job. We'll be looking for even better video output in 2007.

Talk to you soon.

Mr. O.

After seeing all of the video work that your team did last year during Ramp Riot, I'm extremely happy for your positive comment. With the VEX season starting up soon, off-season events coming up, and the 2007 FRC season creeping closer, I'm sure we'll be putting out more videos in the future.

Good video, nice cut, and good choice of music.

BUT.................................

The video itself has no message or no story to go with it. If you add a underlying message through out the whole video, it capture and keep the audiences attention through the whole video. (A little hard to do but it can still be done) Maybe with text if your audio isn't working.

More graphics and flashiness the better. I don't know how much time you had to work on this video.

Other than that very very good video. nice and up beat and you don't stay on a camera shot for two long. good job.

I actually plan on making another video during build season, or after we attend ramp riot, so I can get some uncorrupted footage and audio from team members and mentors. At that point I can make something explaining about our team, what FIRST means, and info about the competitions attend. This was pretty much a compilation video for me to play around with that I made in a week so we could show something during our Freshman Orientation, which actually turned out pretty well.

With us going to Ramp Riot and Duel on the Delaware this year, I'll probably have plenty of footage to create an info video.
