Programming Dongle

Does anyone know what a Programming Dongle is ?
It is listed in the FVC Bundle Kit.

I can only believe that they're referring to the part that connects your Vex controller to your computer for programming, similar to the part in the programming kit.

In the standard Vex kits, it's orange colored.

I'm trying to get this clarified. No answer yet.

I too, think FIRST is referring to the USB to serial adapter and the vex programming circuit/cable. I'm also curious because there's no mention of the software. I'm guessing that IFI is handling the hardware side of things and Intelitek is supplying the software side.

Does this mean that new teams will also have to purchase EasyC from Itelitek separately from the starter kit? Still waiting for an answer. Hopefully, if the software is a separate purchase, new teams will be able to buy the latest version without having to upgrade immediately like last year.

If you do hear I'd like to know as well. I'm helping start three teams at an underserved school and will have them purchase the bundle, but I need as complete a picture of the total cost as possible to organize the sponsor funding.

The mention of the dongle has been replaced with "Vex Robotics Programming Kit ($99.99 value) " which can be found here.
