Autodesk liscenses and Inventor 11

A question proposed by a mentor of ours.
Does each team get additional Autodesk Inventor and 3-d Max liscneses each season, or is it more of a one shot deal (x number per team for each program)?

And how does FIRST handle progam upgrades, as such with the new Inventor program?

In the past years each team has gotten a new set of licenses with the new software from Autodesk so I would assume it would be the case this year as well. I'm not 100% sure but thats what I've seen.

Yeah, past year's we've gotten 10 licenses of Inventor, and 5 of 3ds... dunno if they'll do that this year, but here's hoping they up the licenses of 3ds!

I think you just call Autodesk or FIRST, one of the two, but there are instructions as well, to get more copies of licenses for both 3ds max and inventor. This year i think it will be easier as they are doing it all digital. Im one of the few people in that interest group that is testing out the downloading the software other than installing from the cd. Its pretty simple and easy to use. I think Autodesk will make things a whole lot easier for licensing this year, last year was a pain with having to call the SF headquarters and switch around the license to activate. well, there is my input.

Each year, each team will receive a new set of licenses for the current release.

We have some improvements in the pipeline for the 2006-2007 season; stay tuned!

i dont believe our team recieved any 3dsmax/Inventor updates last year, we had 3ds7 and inventor from the year before though, do we need to get on a list or request new versions or should we just get them automatically? (as there are some of the newer features i'd really like to use)

How many licenses does each team recieve? Does it depend on the number of students or is it a standared number?

In the past few years (and presumably this year as well) every team has received a set number of Inventor licenses, no matter the size of the team. Last year we got 10 Inventor 10 licenses, the year before I believe was 30, for Inventor 8.
