[OCCRA]: Vex kit

What is the purpose of the Vex kit we received during the OCCRA kick off? Is it to be used on the team robot or are we supposed to make a Vex robot for something else? If the Vex robot is part of a competition then, what is it supposed to do?
Do we have to program it because the software from Vex is an extra $100 ?
Help please.

Answer: The VEX kit is provided so teams can start to learn programming and also prototyping. We had considered in incorporating the VEX as a part of the competition but thought it might stress teams to much this year.

We are encouraging teams to build a VEX robot for a Demo at the Championships and show off your teams robotic talents.

It was my understanding that there was software (Easy C for VEX) included as part of the kit. I may have been mistaken. I will talk to Teri and Mike McIntyre.

Please safeguard the kit and all the parts as we plan to use the kit next year as a integral part of the game and competition. You will need its parts for then. Feel free to use the sensors if you feel they will give you an advantage.
