iTunes

Has anyone here downloaded iTunes 7 in the last couple of days? I did, and it doesn't work. Many people have been having this problem (as seen on the apple forums) So i was wondering if anyone lse had these problems aswell. And also caution others to wait to download it until a more stable version of iTunes 7 is released.

I got it about five minutes after it came out. No problems at all.

I've been able to access the store only once since installing it. It's been doing some other really funny things as well.

I've used it quite a bit since downloading it on the first day. The only problem I've had is with the CoverFlow view. It seems to be quite glitchy, but it's probably just my graphics card.

I've been using it on my PC since the night it came out. I've noticed some glitches. Audio/video playback gets jumpy for me when iTunes is doing anything else (syncing my iPod, downloading or checking podcasts). It also hangs when I put in a CD of any kind.
I hope these small things get ironed out soon.

Mine lags for about 2 seconds, but it's always done that for me

I love iTunes 7, the album cover view, and the ability to search for CD covers is awesome. (Now if only they'd do ID3 tags too) The only issue that I've encountered is that the volume control in the program doesn't work to well, I'm pretty much having the same issue as Jeff (Ogre) I downloaded it the day it came out, and it took till about 9:00 for the music store and all associated functions to work properly. I'm guessing we'll see a revision within 14 days.

iTunes7 has successfully erased my entire iPod. Without my consent. I guess I have to reload everything again. Apple said it was my iPod, but I think it was iTunes 7.

They've been saying that allot lately...On the apple forums (Manley the iPod section) many people have been complaining that once they got iTunes 7 there iPod got erased of everything, it won't turn on anymore, and a few have said that their iPod just plain won't work anymore...which is why i am now very cautious of my iPod...

Mine died for about two days and it actually told me on the screen to contact apple. i let it sit for 48 hours and tried to turn it back on, it has been fine since then, besides the iTunes issue.

did you ever call apple? If so please tell me how, its very hard to find help on the website and calling them about an issue you need like a "help code" or something you get if you purchase some special warrenty...

Re: iTunes

No but I brought my iPod into my campus store and the lovely boy that worked there helped me out. I went to the apple store in the mall around two weeks ago, that was a bad idea, the people there were rude and did not help. The store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago is helpful.
Calling apple is not going to happen unless you want to call their help desk and they charge around 25 bucks for that and that doesn't always work.

iTunes 7 works flawlessly for me. If you are having problem with iTunes the best way is to trash your library (not the music), and have iTunes rebuild your library from scratch.

If your iPod has died, there is a 95% chance that the Hard Drive has failed. Unfortunately that is the problem with Hard Drives in general. They can't withstand a lot of shock & vibration, especially during a read/write cycle. However it is replaceable, if you choose to do so.
