This is an incredible picture. Since I saw it a week ago I have been looking for other views of it on line. What is that where the floor should be? This makes me want to see this really bad. We need a Rome regional and Cyberblue would be there in a heartbeat. Rome is where that is at isn't it.

I was there 2 summers ago and it was the best trip i have ever taken. I had an amazing time. I took a tour of Italy that went to most of the key cities...but no sicily (shame since im sicilian).
Italy is such an amazing place to be and i would go back anytime...hope you have/had fun.

I belive that the "stage floor" is not there. If I recall correctly, there was a "basement level" for supporting whatever they wanted to show.

My daughter brought home a photo of herself taken standing in that same spot in July. Here are a couple of other views she took of the missing Colosseum floor and the remains of the rooms underneath.
