[OCCRA]: Question? Extruded Alum

A team asked?

Question? Can we purchase Extruded Alum, called Power Lock System. It is extruded Alum that fasteners together with bolts. It is sold on the internet and at a vendor in Oakland County.

Answer: No. This product is not readily available at hardware stores and is also quite expensive. We have not allowed usage of this product in the past and see no reason to include it on the additional hardware list for this year.

If you want it considered by the game and Kit committee please write up a rational and submit it at the end of the season for consideration.

Many alum pieces of stock are actually extruded in their manufacture but fall within the angle, box, rectangle, U Channel readily sold at hardware stores and are legal materials as listed in the rules.

Note: Teams may NOT use the Kit Bot materials supplied by FIRST as they are not locally available to all teams.
