I have wondered which is better of the two. Is it the 360 or PS3?

Vote please and tell me the title of games on the console you like the most with its genre.

X-Box 360 for various reasons.

X-Box Live will always > Playstation Online

400 dollars versus 600 dollars

Some games appeal to me more, and Assassin's Creed, the game that would almost force me to get PS3, will also be released on the X-Box 360!

Although, I am a Final Fantasy fanboy, so at some point when FFXIII comes out (which could be years from now) I'll find a way to pay for a PS3 long after a price drop or two rolls around.

i do like a good x-box (it usually has better games)

but PS2 anyway rather than PS3 has ddr... and ddr is l33t

however ddr for the computer is the best, but its hard to get adaptors for

ddr is hard to get adaptors for? Try Red Octane you can get cheap, or high end matts for anything, I have a usb/gamecube/xbox/ps2 adaptor. Which leads me to think one more thing, how about a DDR robot

Anyway, back to the debate,
1) Wii
2) 360
3) PSwhere?

at the rate sony is heading, it won't be long before my younger brother asks what a playstation was.

Well, because the Wii and the Playstation 3 haven't even come out yet, it is hard to rate what is better, but I do love the controller and wireless sensitivity that the X-Box 360 has.
Wii looks interesting, but I am a lazy gamer and would have some getting used to with having to move a lot with many of their up coming potential games.
PS3 I could play Final Fantasy games on, and that would be fun, but overall, my computer can run emulators.

I would have to say X-Box 360. Halo 3 baby!

PS3 is crap and always be crap.

$600 firstly starts it off as an under dog.
Wii allows just about every cd game that Nintendo has made. also some other goodies. i can't wait to wait in line for 7+ ours to get my hands on a Wii next month.

Every time I turn around, PS3 just looks worse and worse.

Sony got sued by DualShock for using it in their controllers without permission, now this is no more DualShock.
I can't imagine that the gyroscope in the PS3 will used much.
$600 dollars? Please.
And then there's the rumor about encoding each game with something so that one game can be played on one PS3, completely throwing out the option of renting and borrowing games, which is what I live for!
And another rumor about how the PS3 would be like a computer and you'd have to update it every once in a while.

So if you look at the published specs, the Play station has far more potential as a game system... But I will believe the specs when I see the system myself. I believe, however that the play station 3 will out perform the xbox360, and that Sony will do a far better job than Microsoft did with distribution and product quality. We'll just have to wait 'till November 17th to see...

I don't follow gaming much (Mac user without a TV, what can I say?), but this came across my newsreader and just took the cake:

Sony claims Xbox 360 requires HD DVD, etc., thus costs $700

I mean, it's a fact sheet so it must be true! :rolleyes:

(If I had the kind of money required for a next-gen system, I'd get an NES and an N64 and throw the rest in the bank. Gameplay over graphics, man.)

and HAHAHAHA in a nice way i laugh in your face. there will be less PS3's then 360's oin launch date. it wil be like taking candy from a baby on steroids, have a nice time trying but you will be missig an arm if you get that candy. end of story.

hahaha i laugh at that fact sheet too, that is goign to the CORE system which is a lot less and crappy, of course sony is goign to post about that, and thier amount is even wrong. they have changed it so many times there are many documents with diffrent prices. the real price will be $600 for PS3.

Sounds like you are getting upset at not being able to get a ps3 (Just kidding)... no need to do that.
Pre-ordering a product is a beautiful thing.
"all that other stuff" obviously is worth the $300, or else every single console wouldn't sell out on the release date, I, for one, think that it is just the trim on the more expensive model that is worth the $300 ;)
What I was referring to when I compared the release of the two consoles is the defects that a good number of X-box 360s had on ship... there were alot of unhappy customers with the xbox 360..

Also, take the November 17/19 thing up with http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/about.html because that is where I got my date.

Another plus for the PS3 is the free worldwide network, no more paying for xbox live....

yea, sorry i just got back from running around in the pouring rain and walking through town and Alfred Univeristy with a bunch of friends.

Everyone has thier good points and this arguement will always apear when the time comes of new consoles. I also think it is like cars or politics. What you grow up with is what you stick with.

Well I probably wont buy any of them for a couple years(I just got a regular x-box last year) not because the systems might have problems but just because I am cheap. However X-box 360 gets my vote because I prefer it's games over alot of the Nintendo games and It isn't as expensive as PS3.

Also as a note, I am pretty sure the games/trivia section is for playing games and this thread should be in chitchat, for some reason there has been alot more threads like this posted in here instead.

OK, i have thought about this hard and i will be getting a PS3, will there be two diffrent kinds like the 360?

My understanding is that there will be two distinct bundles available as with the 360.

My understanding is also that if you haven't yet prepaid for one of the consoles, you'll have almost no chance at getting one -- that is, unless you're the sort that wouldn't mind spending the night outside some box store somewhere.

i personally think the ps3 will be better than xbox 360, the reason sony isnt rushing their ps3 as much as the xbox 360. but i also think that blue ray is going to turn out like internet 2. Wtf ever happened to that??? im also a sony guy and the only reason i got a xbox was to mod the hell out of it, im putting a wireless internet card and a mod chip in it. Its cheaper to mod than the ps2

Yup that is the plan exactly. Will be leaving at around 11pm and waiting in line in either K-mart or Wal-Mart. Same thing diffren tyear for me. I did it for the 360 also, actually fun to sit and talk to the other crazy people. But this time i will be spliting the costs with my friend so we can flip flop line/car.

ya there will be a $500 one that only comes with 20 gb and and $600 one that comes with 60gb, some cables for online use, AND AN AWESOME SILVER LINING BY THE DISK TRAY!!!.

Also it is coming out on the 17th, followed by the release of the Wii(stupid name) on the 19th, and from what ive seen on a lot of forums unless you have a preorder, you will most definitely have to wait in line for a decent amount of time to get either one of these systems.

Yup theres is two chances for me to get one. a 24hr wal-mart and a kmart.

im going with a friend, so we will be heading to wal-mart round 7/8 because they will be selling at 12:01am. if that doesn't work i will jet to kmart and wait in line, they open at 8am. i also have class at 8am too.

i got some inside information about the wal-mart, 10 consoles, only 5 will be the 60gb. thats what we are going for the 60gb. it should be a fun time!

last i heard, there will be no need to extreme camp for the Wii. Nintendo is pumping them out.
