So we're using red x's as game elements this year?
Well that's different.

I am pretty sure that the game hint came out on the 23rd last year. Give it a week.

Does anyone notice the period dlavery puts at the end of every one of the posts (pretty much) that he makes to the game clue threads. It started recently, and he doesn't do it in any other thread.

4 newlines and then a period.
4 red herrings.
at least 4 "clues," not one.

4 what!?

Its not Triple Play! Its Quadruple play! :ahh:

Hum.. what comes in 4s... a square has 4 sides... maybe 4 teams per alliance (i doubt this thou...). Ok I'll stop now, already gone to far with this :p

very insightful.

I do recall, as many people have already mentioned, that FIRST has started using their own symbols as game pieces... triangle, circle... now we're due for that square. (along those lines i looked at the 2005 kick-off video, and they did say they wanted to use all the shapes of first....)

Maybe another stacking game like stack attack?

Actually, Dave does that a lot for many of his posts over the years. I think it's just for aesthetic reasons, so there would be a white space from the bottom of his post until the start of his signature. (Otherwise new lines at the end of a post without any text on them are deleted.)

Or maybe not. lol ;-)

Someone should make FIRST fortune cookies, because I think I just thought of a good one. ;)

From but a single game hint
a million games do spring
whether they're red herrings or not
they're still better than when Karthik sings.
:ahh:

It could

Also be the idea that

something will be switched on for

stop every so often.

Possibly with the lights that they showed us last year in atlanta, they said that they would change colors every so many seconds (i think it was 2 sec.). And if we do use squares (blocks, cubes, PVC pipes assembled into cubes: ;) ) i hope that we will be launching them like we did last year, the shooter games are a lot of fun, although shooting squares would be a bit difficult.

ehh... i guess ill wait another week for the clue.

Has anyone else noticed that dave always signs his posts even though it is clear that they are from him. Maybe there well be specific objectives for each team on an alliance that is specific for what position they are.

I'd guess that's just a habit, I dont think theres a post he's made that doesn't have his signature.

I've also noticed Dave switching his user title surprisingly much lately in comparison to how he used to. (For the longest of times, it was simply Curmudgeon, or in my really early days on CD Curmudgeon V-Neun.) Somebody care to find the connection between John Lennon, Joe Barbera, and robots?

(I'm absolutely joking here--I have absolutely no interest in hint-chasing this year.)
