Looking for a small I/O module

Hello. I'm working on a project and would like to use a small, low cost, digital i/o module that can communicate with a PC via ethernet or USB 2.0

I would like to have at least 2 digital counters (must be quad to get direction off digital encoders) and 14 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs.

So, something like 16 in/16 out digital i/o with the channels configurable as counters or PWM outputs would be perfect.

Anybody have any ideas? Desired cost around $50 or so...

probably more expensive than you are looking for

Might also want to check out phidgets

I think you are looking for alot of features for the price. How about building your own?

try a PIC 4550 microproc, or AVR has a model (i forgot the code) which has USB too.

At nationals last year National Instruments had booth with that module that was sending signles to a RC emulating a gyro. It was pretty sweet

Don,
This month's QST ham radio magazine has an article on a series of data acquisition devices from DATAQ.com. The article is about one person's applications of a device with four analog ports in USB for $50. They have a variety of devices on their website. Maybe something would work for you.
