388 isn't competiting at all this year :( and 616 hasn't competed this or last year. 165 is sticking to thier home regional in Annapolis I think, and 1279's home New Jersery regional is the same weekend as VCU for the 2nd year in a row.

Hi...

Yeah I miss them all . We have very close ties to alumni from 616.
Kyle and John have helped us and will be volenteers this year again.
We had hoped Matt Glennon could be there....and we know he really
wanted to be there...but he has some Army pre deployment training
the same weekend.

I think I might miss Das Goat (165) the most, next to my own team (616) having dissolved due to some school board issues. There was always something about the mixture of goats and robots that I enjoyed (Yes, even more than the mixture of robots with Dogs, Hokies, Knights, Pirates, Tigers and Eagles)

165 was 616's alliance partner in 2004, and we lost by 5pts, or 2 seconds, whichever you like. That was a GREAT year. And I'll never forget 1279's 2005 bot with two arms that reminded me of a tree...

But, for every team that leaves VCU, there is a rookie team that enters. I can't wait to see what the rookies have come up with this year.

The 2004 VCU elimination rounds are, without a doubt, the best at an official FIRST event I have ever witnessed (only IRI 2006 betters it). Between the 4-robots-on-the-bar Quarterfinal match (which was also decided by 5 points), 1236's & 116's tips during the semis (both of which cost us matches), and 33's dramatic trip onto the steps in the final match, those elimination matches absolutely blew me away.

Wish we could be there, unfortunate conflict with NJ Regional again this year.

Believe me, it was even more exciting to be on a team from the country that had little funding and to find ourselves competing with, and beating, the big dogs.

It just occurred to me that 616 knocked 165 out of the finals in 2005, after we had teamed up in 2004. Just made my picks for VCU FF too. Way too many teams to choose from so after about the first twenty I gave up.

I literally cant wait. Six days is way too long to wait to leave here. How is the weather. Us Georgia kids are hoping for some either a nice suny day, or SNOW.
Can't wait to see everyone there. And Sean, don't forget our trade. I got your hoodie waiting. lol

Both are attending New Jersey.

393 will be there, for sure, as long as we all survive the trip :D

I'm looking forward to the great competition that it seems is going to be out there, I hope I have time to come around and see y'all's bots, but if I'm needed in the pits, come by and say howdy, I'd love to meet ya.
