A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
After getting both robots ready for the Fall Classic scrimmage this weekend, we decided to have a little fun. (we are known for having a good time and recording certain instances on film) ;)
Anyway, here is our tribute to the A-Bomb. We wanted to see what we were capable of, and ended up transferring the balls between the two robots two or so dozen times.. we were THAT bored! We used every ball we could find, but probably could have only fit a few more without running into problems with jamming. We didn't count, but its in the neighborhood of 20 balls I think? Of course, a shout out goes to teams 195, 25, and the many others who thought of, attempted, or wanted to attempt the "A-Bomb" in competition. You all made the game a whole lot of fun, and gave an inspiring display of what cooperation is all about. http://www.vivid-hosting.net/MOV00242.MPG http://www.vivid-hosting.net/MOV00234.MPG PS, yes, that was me at the end yelling "ahhh, you're too slooow!!" :) |
Re: A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
I always wondered ... Where does the name "A Bomb" come from?

Re: A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
It was called A-Bomb because we figured that it would have a huge impact on the score and it would be a suprise to the other teams.
Or as Tom says, they needed a code name that no one would understand at UTC, when himself and Greg Marra talked about it. And Dang Travis, I must say, that looked awesome. All we can do is shoot our balls into the loader, you guys can have some serious fun with that. |
Re: A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
is there any good video of 195 and 968 doing this on Einstein? the webcast doen't actually show the best trasnfer.

Re: A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
I thought I remembered a team at phoenix using it as well. I just couldn't remember if it was you, or 599. You guys were awesome at phoenix by the way.
And to team 968, I look forward to competing with both of you this weekend at the fall classic. |
Re: A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
wow 50 pounds we could have put our base on that. Great machine guys. I wish we had 5 more points for a third match.

Re: A tribute to the "A-Bomb"
now all you have to do is form a loop one robot shoots it into the other one then then the balls gets fed back into the shooting one now that'd be sweet
