Purdue - Places to Eat?

I'm doing a tour at Purdue on Tuesday, and I'm wondering if there are any students/alumni/people that could give me a good idea of decent places to eat in the area around Purdue. I'm looking for something other than fast food, national chain pizza, etc. Local places would be preferred.

Thanks!

(I'm not sure if this is supposed to go in the Colleges subforum, but since that subforum isn't exactly the most high-traffic area, I've posted it here so that it will at least get some replies)

If you want to eat something on campus check out Pappy's Sweet Shop in the Memorial Union (aka the Union).

There are also a few other places in the Union.

You may also want to check out Triple XXX.

I just ate at a place last week called "McGraws Steak Chops & Fish House."

It's a local place just south-west of campus that tends to have nicer food (yet more expensive menu $$). I just went there for a birthday dinner with my family for the first time and we all enjoyed it. Most people wear nicer attire when visiting, but I felt fine in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

EDIT: Like Kyle said Arnis is also a great place to eat. It's mostly a pizza place, but they do have other items.

When we go over to Lafayette we always eat at Arni's. Good pizzas and salads.

This is a good dining guide too. Purdue is in West Lafayette and Lafayette is on the opposite side of the river.

EDIT: Scotty's Brewhouse is good. http://www.scottysbrewhouse.com/defa...?PageIndex=324

It's all about the Mad Mushroom Cheesesticks. Its address is 720 Northwestern Ave. Right across the street from the basketball stadium. Cant miss it. The place is extremely junky looking, but the cheesesticks are amazing.

Aha! My living in WL for the longest time helps now.

You can tell me which of these interest you and I'll give you addresses, but for now just descriptions:

My favorite spot is tied betwen Scotty's & Khana Khazana. Two very different places, but both quite good.

I. On-Campus/Campus Area (within a mile)

Amen to McGraw's: Amazing ribs, amazing fish. Truly a hidden classic
Amen to Scotty's - Absolutely awesome food
Amen to Pappy's Sweetshop - Purdue Classic, American food
Buffalo Wild Wings - Yah, they're everywhere, but they're that good

If you're feeling ethnic,
Khana Khazana - Amazing Indian buffet (very pricey); my personal fave
Blue Nile - Middle Eastern, awesome pricing
Olive House - Also Middle Eastern
Parthenon - Greek, not as good as place across town

If you just need to grab a sandwich for the road, go to Jimmy John's.

The big places to eat on campus/near campus are mainly The Village (Fazoli's, Arby's, some Thai, some Greek, some of everything basically)

Student Union (Pappy's, a food court, smoothies, Pizza)

The Levy Area (down the hill from campus)
Scotty's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dick's BBQ (awesome place to go), Snowbear, Panera, Starbucks, Potbelly's (not near everything else, but that general location)

There's also another small area that is called lots of different things as I hear, I usually refer to it as "Food near McCutcheon" or something similar, that has Pizza Hut & Dairy Queen, and also a Subway.

What about things to do on the Wednesday before the competition?
I've been looking at this competition and my team likes to go somewhere that has something cool to do.
