How does it look over all for this regional? VCU so far looks like low scoring.
Des anyone know how to get team scores as they are posted? |

No clue on the scores, though. |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
I have seen a lot of 0 rings for teams at VCU.
Last VCU score is 16 to 10. So the team that did 256, how did it look? |

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
There are some low scoring matches, but I'd say there are good number of great scorers. I think the elims are going to be terrific.
25 looks to be the team to beat again this year... |

Attempts to fix the webcast for today have been abandoned, we have tried everything we can. It is out of our control. We WILL be back for sat on new servers (the ones broadcasting VCU). keep your eyes open for links in the morning.
I would like to thank the people at NASA, they have been extremely helpful and supportive. Our archive will also be up as soon as possible. thanks for watching! see you in the morning!:) |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
You can post them to Google Video Sam. Our website should catch the feed and have it up.

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
So for those of you watching the webcast...anything you'd recommend us doing differently tomorrow? Also any pointers for my announcing would be appreciated.

Team 25 IS the inventor of exploding bacon ice cream but you can shoot Wayne Penn for giving it that name. We have a running "tradition" to initiate our dinner guests at team functions by telling the restaurant that it is their birthday. We also have a running gag of serving the Birthday Boy a sundae topped with bacon. Our last assistant coach had a birthday 6 times in three months. I wanted to call it the Evil Sundae- but Penn took the lead. He was the birthday boy last night...... WC  |

on another note, awesome work today teams! i was so glad to see that some of the teams who were overweight, not functional, or just needed a few rounds to warm up got going and had a blast out there! i really love this regional, its a GREAT bunch of teams every year and a blast to participate in! lets go get em tomorrow! i hope to see you all in the quarters, semis, and finals! good luck! and remember...its just a game, but a hell of a game at that! |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
It was a lot of fun today. Our rookie robot is on a real roll. :ahh: Were very excited for tomorrows matches. (Even though we got stuck with 7 not 8, but were still very excited. :D )

1902 did extemely well in its rookie year and almost won its first regional and almost won Archemedies and was 9-0 at Houston. that was very unusual. Our joke was we didn't win at Atlanta to leave room for this year :) . That was a special year, hard to duplicate, we felt very luckie and fortunate indeed. |

Day one results from the New Jersey Regional have been posted on the TBA TV Match Archive System. Video will be up following the competition, but for now you can view match statistics.
Stay tuned, more features are on the way. |

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
anyone want to post the seeds and teams? can't find it anywhere, and the webcast isnt working for me. so watching VCU.
where only one selection was made within the top 8. |

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
STL alliance pairings are delayed until 12:45 their time. I believe they had ranking problems too.
Ah, Week 1..... |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
Seed 1 wins QF1.1 easily 136 to 4. Way to score ringers with still some defense being played!!
|
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
Halfway through QF1.2, #1 seed was winning but they stopped it when a spider leg fell off. They have to replay it.
|
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
#1 seed will win without a reliable 2 @ 12 bot to oppose them....
I'd love to see the #7 alliance face them. 486 is the closest thing to one in the elims. EDIT - ....and I get my wish. We'll see offense vs. defense here.... |

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
That was a pretty sweet final. Shame about the resets, but once the action was going in the elims, the bots were really awesome.
Why did we lose the 8th qualification round, though? Was anyone else really frustrated with the gigantic delay in alliance selection? That wasn't cool. Why didn't they just say "we're having troubles, go eat lunch now" instead of "do the macarena and cotton eyed joe and then have 20min to eat!." ?? |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
yeah... that delay totally me off. it would have been much better if they had said that there were problems instead of have all of us just wait.

Congrats to Teams 25, 103, and 1302. 25 and 103... always proving why they're the best every year.

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
This will be a fun year.
Great regional, too bad they got a bad rap for running into the worst of problems during the finals, it was running so well that everyone went home EARLY (not on time, but ahead of schedule) yesterday. For my last NJ Regional as a student, I had quite the time between Engineering Inspiration and WFA (Go Mr. Leicht!). I'd like to put out a nice thank you to two teams in particular, 303 and 75. 303, you know it, and 75 your our best teammates (see below), thanks for being great partners with 11. Hope to see everyone at Monty Madness 2 on May 19th, this time co-hosted by your 2007 Chairman's Winners 75, and 1403. Thank you everyone I had a great time and thats all I needed. |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
haha we gave it a good run 1403, but not good enough it seems =P
see you at monty! |

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
The funny part about all of the final matches was the ladder sheet we (the volunteers) could not get copies easily & it doesn't exsist on the new scoring system. Yeah you may have saw it on the screen but it is not coded to be printed at all. We had some special people working very diligently in printing out a very close substitute which worked perfectly.
Maybe a total of 4 - 6 matches ran w/o the sounds not running (Charge, Buzzer, End Game), Maybe one or two scoring system foul ups. Music was alright, nothing to brag out about definitaley loud enough. Maybe a couple matches got messes up by the scoring system causing the score to be off. Team Queueing held up all day as well as Field Rep/Reset. Had many popped tubes and most if not all were given away as souvenoirs. |
Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
oh yes, the mounds of popped tubes dissapearing to the masses. The only problem i had with that was that everyone was very anxious and excited to get down there and grab as many tubes as they could, yet when i went back into the arena when it was mostly empty, a quick survey of the stands showed that a lot of popped tubes were littering the stands and seats of the stadium. D:

Re: 2007 New Jersey Regional
Congrats and good luck in Atlanta teams 25,103 and 1302.
I would like to thank 359 and 486 for being such an amazing alliance. I never thought that we would advance all the way to the final match. Good luck 359 in Vegas & good luck 486 in Philly and Atlanta. |
