Like Dylan noted before, I may be heading down to NJ for my first NJ regional, and I may have a few Sparx along for the ride, who knows...

This year we will still have that down on the floor (SBA supplies that since it's their ice rink) but NJ FIRST will be putting down Masonite sheeting on top of the cardboard flooring which will significantly decrease not only the dust but will also provide a much safer foundation on which to walk on.

Is anything been done about the horrible food? What about water? and cups/glasses for water? Are the pits arranged similarly to last year? Most importantly, What are my chances of getting sick with all the new improvements that are being done as opposed to other years with promised improvements?

Depends upon how often you wash your hands and/or use Purell.

We concluded last year that it was less a function of the venue and mroe a function of the way Viruses and Bacteria spread from host to host.

I'm proud that I did not get sick, despite spending virtually all of my time in the pits - but I did wash my habds at least 15 times a day all three days, wore gloves a lot, and even then was super careful about NOT touching my mouth, nose, eyes, etc.

See you there!

Don

Thanks for all the offers to help. We appreciate it. We chose NJ because of teams 11 and 25 and the fact that our team chose to go to NY afterwards. We didnt do a NYC regional due to time schedule conflicts with our students taking finals.
What makes our trip more expensive is chartering a bus to take us from NJ on a tour of New York after, including stops to the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building tours, for a total of 6 hours. Then we are staying near Times Square for 3 days to enjoy NY.
Total cost for 25 people. $37,000 not including spending money.:(

Our team members are also on our Electric Vehicle team. We spent November in NY and raced in New Hampshire also.

Then our team flys back home and go back 2 1/2 weeks later to Vegas for our second regional, then come home and possibly go back 3 weeks later to Atlanta for the championships.

Thats a lot of cookies to sell.......~$100,000 worth of expenses per year........:)
