Video Request: 2002 Einstein Finals

Alright, so I keep hearing about the mythical finals matches of Einstein Field. Does anybody have video of it that they can post through their choice of means (personal host/Google Video/YouTube)? I searched, but all of the links ever posted for just about anything from 2002 are now 404.

OK bro - I'm still working on that, and trust me noone wants it more than me. I spoke directly with the SOAP crew at the Florida Regional begging for it, and Kenny e-mailed me shortly afterwards saying they had been unable to find it. Our driver from that year (Kurt) had a copy of everything but I haven't been able to get it from him yet either. I haven't given up hope.

If you just want to see Fluffy in action, try this website for the 2002 Florida Regional finals in RealPlayer format (match 2 is the best).

I have the finals matches and at least one of the semis matches on VHS..if I can get my VCR to work and have some time in the next couple weeks, I'll try to get them encoded if no one gets them up before then. At the very worst, Thanksgiving Break will give me time.

I too, have them on VHS. I used to have them digitized, but I think they were lost in a hard drive crash. I'll try to get them captured, but it probably won't be very soon.

I got a reply back from Kurt - he's going to post them on his server tonight. I'll be back with the link as soon as that's done.

I too would like to get a copy of ANYTHING from the Finals of '02. I had a few back and forth E-mails with SOAP last year and they had said that all of their video for that year was gone......

Gary,

As far as noone wanting it more than you, we're probably a close second :D

BTW your driver that year did an EXCELLENT job. I still have a picture in my head of him winning a pushing match with our opponents while having BOTH his hands on the driver station glass! The look on the drivers face from the other side of the field was priceless.

Re: Video Request: 2002 Einstein Finals

OK, I have the following videos from the official feeds. I cut out the intros and the results (those are easy enough to find), so they are just matches. The Newton matches are a static camera from overhead for the entire match and Einstein matches are multiple cameras.

Newton QF1-1
Newton QF1-2
Newton QF1-3
Newton SF1-1
Newton SF1-2
Newton F-1
Newton F-2
Einstein SF2-1
Einstein SF2-2
Einstein F-1
Einstein F-2
Einstein F-3

The Newton files are about 25mb and the Einstein files are about 55mb (don't know why they are bigger..they aren't longer). As soon as I find someone willing to host, they are free to the world. If you only want one, PM me and I'll either yousendit or I can temporarily host a file.

Alright, here we go. Files can be found at the following locations:

Newton QF1-1, Newton QF1-3, Newton SF1-1, and Newton SF1-2:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/1378291/e...7/sharing.html

Einstein SF2-1, Einstein SF2-2, and Einstein F-3:
http://people.msoe.edu/~kolodzik/2002/

Newtwon QF1-2, Newton F-1, Newton F-2, Einstein F-1, and Einstein F-2 are being hosted by Jeff and he will post his links in the morning.

If someone could host them all in one place, that'd be great (also so I can free up my webspace again!).

Enjoy!

I can get them hosted permanently in downloadable WMV format; hopefully later tonight I can get all of the existing videos uploaded. ;)

F1 has a really nice shot of 71's shuffling mechanism from that year. Very neat to see up-close and in moderately good resolution. (Hey, you never know when you'll need to drive in a really straight line.)

Re: Video Request: 2002 Einstein Finals

Newton SF1-1 is simply the most dominant match I have ever witnessed in my 9 years of FIRST. Download the video and prepared to be awed.

In this match Beatty goes for their typical three goal move, but they're only able to grab two of the goals, as Team 67 gets in the way of their left arm. Unfortunately for HOT, Beatty latched on to the HOTbot with their gripper. So now HOT is attached to Beatty. 68, 67's partner, grabs the 3rd goal. Using their second gripper, they latch on to one of the goals that Beatty has.

So what we have, is 3 goals and 2 robots which are attached to Beatty somehow. This is 800 lbs. of weight. (3*180 + 2*130). 260 lbs. of this weight is fighting against Beatty. It doesn't matter. Team 71 proceeds to drag all 800 pounds with them as they move into their goalzone.

800 pounds!!!

It's almost been 5 years, and I'm still in awe.
