Rhythm Game of Choice
If you have been on any robotics team for some amount of time, you find quickly that teams are made partly of...
Well, completely made of nerds. And where there are nerds, there are video games! ITT, we choose which rhythm based music video games are our personal favorites! Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, Guitar Hero, and anything else I missed. I really love Guitar Hero. It's more than I am a huge fan of rock-n-roll, and I am uncoordinated with my feet in every way, but the fact that games excellently executed auditory reward system really encourages the player to practice the advanced techniques for the harder songs. |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Frequency, for the PS2, It is just amazing.

Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
The good thing about DDR: If you're bad with your feet...
There's always a controller. That's the only one I've played, so I don't know about which is best. |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
GUITAR HERO!!!!!!!
I love Guitar Hero! Amplitude is pretty awesome as well, though. I can't wait for Guitar Hero 2 to come out. The setlist makes me drool. |

Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Guitar Hero is awsome. I can't wait for the GH2
Donkey Konga was a pretty good one. My only complaint is the choice of music... |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
DDR by far, though I quite enjoy Stepmania and DDR's American cousin, In The Groove.
Other than a small song list Donkey Konga was a good game. |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
I like to fake shred every now and then, so of course I'm going with Guitar Hero. ;)
Guitar Hero 2 looks to be even better. Among some of the killer licks on the sequel will be "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath, "Sweet Child O' Mine" by G&R, "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and of course "Thunderhorse" by DETHKLOK! :D |

That song has always been a perfect Guitar Hero song. |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
i love guitar hero and some of my favorite songs are on the two setlists
|
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
either GH is the best in my book. in order to prove my devotion to these two freaking sweet games i insert exhibits A and B:
A ![]() B ![]() They're sigs i made myself for another forum. sweet, right? My favorite songs are "Godzilla" for GHI and "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Carry on Wayward Son" for GHII. oh, and Rock On. |..| \ / |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
I enjoy DDR more than Guitar Hero, but both are tons of fun. Guitar Hero isn't as fun of a party game... there's more laughing with DDR :D
PS: You can never have too big of feet for DDR... I hammer out the difficult songs with my size 15 feet. |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Elite Beat Agents. It's the most addictive game for the DS ever.
|
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Just bought Guitar Hero 2 on Thursday and I'm already beginning Hard. I've already put all of my free-time into that game. I love "Carry on Wayward Son" and Every Time I Die's song... so addictive.

My favorite is "Killing in the Name - Rush" on expert. My high-score is 340,000 or some such for that song. I can beat "Less Talk More Rokk" on expert, too... but it isn't pretty  |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Pop'n Music for me.
|
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Guitar Hero is the best!
But, you can't count out Elite Beat Agents (Highly Addictive Game) |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
I have DDR on my calculator. Does that count? :D
Other than that I've got nothing. |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
DDR...
Actually Stepmania with pads.... Much more songs, more modifiers. Jacob |
Re: Rhythm Game of Choice
Amplitude is seriously the best rhythm game out there. No matter what anyone says =). But yeah DDR is pretty awesome to. I used to play all the time but now i suck
