John: Hey Mikey, can you feel all these little bubbles?
Big Mike: Cut it out John, we have to get serious.
John: They tickle *giggle* if you hold your hands in the water like this, you can feel the bubbles, they tickle *giggle*.
Big Mike: John, man, come ON - we have to do this, the whole world is watching.
John: I can't help it, Mikey, these bubbles feel like fizz - bubbles rock - *starts laughing gleefully*.
Big Mike: John, listen - we have to focus, quit playing with the bubbles -
now - concentrate -
on the count of 3, we each do a handstand and keeping our feet together, point our toes, then scissor split, then twirl. Got it?

John: bub..erm..got it, handstand, scissor split, twirl...*giggle*.

Big Mike: And don't forget - point your toes, they mark off if we don't. And stop giggling please. *sigh* Synchronized water ballet is not for weenies.

A water game takes on a whole new meaning when we see what the field reset guys will look like. Let's not go there.

<not part of entry> Hiteak beat me to it. As always, I posted my entry before reading the others. </not part of entry>

Mike: "Marco!"
John: "Polo!"
Mike: "Marco!"
John: "Polo!"
Mike: "Marco!"....."Marco"....."Marco" *opens eye* "Now where did he go? He better not have gone to the all-you-can-eat buffet without me."

Big Mike: "Come here, you pansy. I'm about to give you the dutch rub of a lifetime!"

JVN: "Mike, you should know by now, we don't agitate the dots....especially the big, bald one on top of my head!"

Many experienced engineers had offered multitudes of technical rationales for why an underwater FRC game was unlikely. However, Mike and John provided the definitive explanation. The very thought of how many young students would be traumatized and forced into long-term therapy by viewing these two in their aquatic referee uniform Speedos was enough to make the FIRST staff realize that the FIRST Robotics Competition could NEVER, EVER, EVER feature aquatic robots...

Steve Irwin: Crikey...lookey here. These specimens are rare North American beluga engineers. They appear to be engaged in some sort of territory battle. It is quite possible that they may be fighting for the attention of a female of the species...no wait, I must be mistaken. There isn't a female to be seen. This is pretty standard for this species. What a catch...woooeeee

Big Mike: See, I told you that NEMO white paper on team travel was great!
JVN: Yeah, who would ever think of staying in the cheap hotel and sneaking into the expensive one to use their pool and hot tub!?

[not an entry: NEMO does not endorse this idea! :) ]

as the SLA liquid was drained from the full scale prototyping machine it became apparent that something had gone terribly wrong!

Instead of the CAD files for the robot chassis, someone had scanned the team mentors, and loaded those files instead

"The following contest is scheduled for one fall. In this corner, with the might (and size) of Jupiter: Big Mike Schroeder! In the opposite corner, his last name is difficult to pronounce and his head reflects light with an absolute magnitude of -1.47: it's John Vielkind-Neun!"

At Mission Mayhem, global warming has again devastated the event.

Big Mike, “Oh NO, Not Again! what are we going to do now John? The field is totally under water.”

JVN, “ Don’t worry, I have Billfred’s number, he’ll know would to do.”
