Limit Switches + camera = Error 131

Ok i think i figured out why i was getting the 131 error, he had recently installed 2 limit switches, well those 2 plus the 6 pwm cables for our dipswitch and the pwm cable from the pressure switch made the RC harware LED to light saying +5V Output low, thats why i was getting the 131 but now i need to know how i can fix that, im hoping just taking 3 of the pwm cables from the dip switch and only programming 3 autonomy codes might do it so there isnt all of those pluged into the port, any thoughts?

Maybe your switches and the camera combined are simply drawing too much current.

1.) Put the camera on a PWM output where it is supposed to go, not on a digital I/O port.
2.) Put a large value (10k-ohm or so) resistor in series with each of your switches.

I never had any problems like that, and I had more than that on the robot. We had two limit switches, 5 toggles for autonomous, and 3 other toggles for other options.

It sounds like you have to camera connected to one of the inputs, and a PWM, because the PWMs are unregulated they get the straight 7.2v from the backup battery so the 5v supply should not be affected. Unless the main battery is dead and the controller is running off the backup.

Those darn C.H.A.O.S. errors. :D ......please return to your regularly scheduled program.

I agree with you, there is no reason that the voltage should be so low if things are plugged in correctly with a fresh battery. I would check for a short in the system. You may want to try selectively unplugging things until the problem is cleared starting with things that were recently added. Also multimeter should be able to help you spot a short relatively quickly.

Fully charged main battary and fully charged backup, and the camera is pluged into a pwm port not an digital io port, all i know is when i plug a limit switch into the rc i get the RC hardware error and my camera doesnt work, and it doesnt matter what limit switch it is or pwm cable we have switched them out also.

That certainly sounds like it's your limit switches.

How did you wire them?
Only the ground and signal wires are used right, not all three (i.e., not power)?

Another possible problem along those lines would be if the switch was shorting between ground and power. If the switch is wired as normally closed, the short would occur as soon as it was plugged into the RC.
