VEX Limit switches for FRC Robot???
Does anyone know if the Limit Switches that come with the VEX kits are legal for FRC Bots? They are essentially the same only difference is they just plug into a pwm cable istead of having to splice them. Any thoughts?

Actually, all Vex sensors are FRC-legal. ;) |

The Vex switches are just a lot more expensive than plain old lever switches.

Yeah, they're legal. We had one on our 2k6 bot. However, they are more expensive for no real gain.

I believe everything in the VEX kit is legal under 2k6 rules (except the transmitter/receiver). You could use the any of the sensors, encoders, gears, wheels, even the VEX CPU (not to replace the FRC robot controller). While, some may dismiss this as silly, I think that many new teams may have access to these kits or someone on the team may have one (three of my students have their own kit at home). So a new team can easily add or try out an encoder or limit switch with a lot more ease than before Vex.
