pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
ahhh.. I see it now. In the dark blue reflection lines above and below the banana you can see what looks to be 4 different objects. In the bottom reflection there looks to be a blue, red, and green striped fish and what possibly looks like a person above it. Then in the reflection above the banana there looks to be green blue and red balls of some sort surrounded by a yellow object (possibly a fish??), and above that there is another object which i cannot make out. Very very tricky Mr. Lavery.

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
It kind of looks like a Van Gogh painting.
Except the banana. How odd. |
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
It almost looks like a bad map of a costal area, giant banana boat and all.

I'll tell you something I don't see in that picture.
I don't see someone who searches before they posts. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ghlight=banana Nuff said. |
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
That still doesn't explain the banana
|
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
You see WHAT? :ahh: It doesn't even look like a banana to me, more of a string bean. Is that Mr. Spock's pointy ear sticking out from the right edge?
This reminds me of my favorite spin-off quote from the movie "The Six Sense." "I see dumb people... they are walking around and they don't even know they are dumb..." And to quote Jane... Quote:

Since I don't know how to do it on Photoshop (or whatever), has anyone tried reversing the colors or whatever? Just to see if that does anything? Worth a try... I'll have to examine the rest of the original picture too, see if anything else is in there. Or has someone already done that? |

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
you must look beyond the banana thats the point i was trying to make. If you have a look in the ripple effects (the dark and lighter blue stripes) you will see a reflection of some interesting objects i tried to describe before and hadn't noticed before this. The banana is just a distraction to what's hiding around it.

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
This picture will never go away will it.
Well I tried adjusting the contrast and I saw the red blue and green spots but I have a feeling that it is just part of the ripple/shadow effect in what ever program Dave used. The Banana has been beaten to death, until some one gets word that First is contacting Fruit companies then I would have to assume the banana will not be part of next years game and is instead just representing Havabanana productions (or something like that), just like the credit at the end of the game animations. We only have a month and a half (probably) before the real clue comes out. I honestly don't think that analyzing this picture any more will help us figure out the new game (of course that being said I will probably look dumb in January as Dave announces that the game will be underwater and robots will have to use the camera to locate fruit and to avoid the fish.) Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
just a few questions:
could the banana be like the pasta from last years game? Do the colors in the ripple resemble a stop light at all to anyone? given it would be red green and blue, possibly a goal with different color lights showing when each alliance can score in it -AZ |
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
Ohhhhhhhhh!!!!
So thats why I saw a Chiquitta Bannana truck at the FIRST loading dock yesterday! Man...sometimes I fail to put 2 and 2 together. |
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
If you look closely at the reflections of the three lights above the banana there is a green one, a blue one, and a red one. Next to a green light there is also what looks like a yellow crescent(like a banana)
I also see what looks like a whole line lights in the same pattern going off to the right and left of the rest of them as well. Then there seems to be the same pattern going on just below the banana. This may suggest that the three light scare at Atlanta is true. Beyond that I have no clue. In no way am I suggesting that this means anything but just what I can see in this pic. |

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
Completely off topic, I know this, but whoever comes up with another game hint like this again with an odd image with a bannana in distorted water that contains a warped version of the blue box bot from all those kick off videos and a volleyball to boot, how about inserting a timer that once expires triggers a loud noise and a quick flash, surprising the viewer? Do this two years from now so this idea fizzles in the head of FIRSTers, and comes back to haunt them when FIRST really begins to ponder doing a water game... :D

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
You all need to go outside and get some fresh air. Seriously. You guys are thinking WAAAAAYYYYYY too much about this, and sucking up WAAAAYYYYY too much free time when you should be doing other things (like figuring out how to make Mechanum drives go up stairs or how to eat banana jello with chop-sticks or how AndyMark is going to help us make 116 of these things). Besides, one person on one of these hint-discussion threads could have it right already. And if they did, then you wouldn't have to worry so much about it - you would just need to listen to that person. So the rest of you could just relax.
Go. Now. No! Get away from the computer! Stop that! Stop looking at the screen! Get outside! I mean it! Go! Get some fresh air! . |

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
It's all about a narrow, slippery (banana) and if you don't stay on the narrow trail then you are all wet.
Basically at the end of the trail is the new game. When someone throws a banana on the trail it could cause you to slip away from the end goal. When you do slip off of the trail and go off guessing then you will most likely be wrong and therefore all wet. Come on January!!!!! |

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
If you guys really want something to go all nuts about searching for game hints check this out. In a discussion on the 06 game hint in which this 07 hint was barely discussed Bill Moore came up with the idea that Dave may have been in one way or another indicating that Tally Hall the author of that song would be the musical guest at kick off as can be found here. At first i thought this was just a joke on Bill's behalf but after the three color light trick reveled to us at Nationals i realized that the multi-colored faces of the singing birds in the music video may mean something. Also Its got a whole lot more to do with Bananas than whether or not there are pictures hidden under the Banana shown and is a bit more up Dave's ally if you ask me.

Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
I'm soo taking Dave's advice .......!!!!!
Instead of burning my brain cells over Dave's Hints, i might as well save them for Kickoff and 6 weeks that follows.... Dave: Enough is enough.......Its time to let the kids relax :p [instead of figuring out the color fluctuations (someone's watching the BOT), the dim images (Lets not have the BOTS play hide n seek) and Banana (I've already mentioned too much i think .. ;) .... )]. |
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
thanks Dave . .
good job . . that last post just confused me so much, I can no longer subtract. hope your proud of your self. |

The 3 different colors can be new target lights if you go back to the hint at the 2006 championships
|
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
Or, they could be 3 different colour player station lights. 3 alliances of 2?
|
Re: pic: What do you see? Tricky, tricky Dave...
i believe the guy said get away from the computer...do it now.

![]() I don't understand the relevance, but there's van gogh, and a banana. Interesting. edit: The stop light also has me thinking. Before the whole water fiasco, there was talk of an interplay between autonomous and driver mode. That is, there would be a random (or team determined) switch from driver mode to autonomous mode in mid match.. Nah.. But what about set periods in which a team's robot, or an alliance is disabled? What about a game piece that, when hit, retrieved, or maybe scored would give you a certain number of seconds of "free play," where your opponents would be completely disabled. Maybe the seconds would cancel out if both teams got them. What about a big ramp in the middle of the field, like in 2003, but with an 8" deep well in the middle 2 robots long and as wide as the ramp? What about being sent into autonomous mode, if you fall into that well (8 inches is probably shallow enough that robots wouldn't harm themselves, but deep enough that they can't just throw a big wheel at the problem of getting out of the "rut." Nah.. What about goals that are like the 2006 goals, but rather than being fixed to a certain alliance, they toggle back and forth during the match. Like, maybe a red light and a blue light. If the blue light is on over the goal, then the blue alliance should score in that goal, and if the red light is on, then the red alliance should score. What if goal ownership were controlled by the field robots? Like, they accomplish a certain task, and the scoring system runs a randomizer to determine which goals belong to who, or the goal ownership simply toggles to the goal the task-accomplishing alliance robot selects. Nah.. What about human players in the middle of the field, in some sort of shielded cage? Nah.. Alice in wonderland? How deep does the rabbit hole go? Cheshire cat, the clown? The Matrix? Pool of tears? Banana boat? yellow jello? FLL ocean odyssey? carnival games? slip 'n slide? I'm not very good at this "figure out the game" thing. Bananas, stop lights, clowns, bunnies, jello, water.. oh boy. I am definitely going to remember to look back at these threads after the game is unveiled next year. |
