Just noticed that the newspaper people who interviewed us put it upon their website. We saw and read the article while waiting but i doubted it would be on-line, but it's cool.

Re: PS3 + WII... who was waiting or will wait???

yeah... but those who didnt get a PS3 yesterday... probably wont see one until AFTER x-mas... at the absolute earliest...

selling pre-orders is a smart buisness move i mean easily make 2x your money for just about nothing =P...

and to my reply to M.krass... Yes... but thats life... scandals like that happen all the time... family, friends... its called INS... if you have them great for you... if you dont your screwed... you gotta know the right people...

I'm sorry about that. I didn't realize that. But well now the story is clear. Once again, sorry for the misundetstanding.

So lets reverse the situation. If you were in my position, would you do it? Would you rather wait in line for 20+ hours or just get away with something which is NOT illegal and none of the 'Code of Behavoir' (for any retailer) says thats its wrong. We all have to wait in line to get inside the arena before the competition begins; but if you know a person and they can let you in first, would you do it or not?

Life is not fair. Survival of the Fittest. I can pretty much go all day to defend that argument. No one is perfect in this world, or even in FIRST.

Imad

PS now lets just stick to the topic, instead of starting a pointless argument.

I would argue that this is not pointless at all, but rather very important. If I knew a person to let me in early at a competition to work on a robot would I? No. It is against the rules of the competition.

I have a question for you Imad. Since it is survival of the fittest, why not just steal a PS3 from the first person to leave the store with it? How do you form your "ethical" decisions? A little cheating is ok, but a lot is not? Where do you draw the line? How do you decide that line for yourself?

Just because no one is perfect is no reason to try your hardest to do good.

So your saying me waiting in line for 39 hours and the next guy waiting for 36 hours, i should get mine and shoot him for his?

Re: PS3 + WII... who was waiting or will wait???

The only thing that will have me getting a Wii off the bat would be a Super Smash Bros. game or a Mario Kart or F-Zero game. Otherwise, I'll wait for the prices to come down on both systems (and bugs to be fixed).

I don't think i mentioned ANYWHERE, to enter the 'arena' to work on the robot. If you read this statement :"We all have to wait in line to get inside the arena before the competition begins; but if you know a person and they can let you in first, would you do it or not?", and assumed that i meant to enter to 'work on a robot'.....well as you said thats illegal. But would you just enter the arena........may be because its cold outside....maybe because you don't want to sit inside for another hour or so, or maybe for any other reason which doesn't defy the Book of Rule?

A good example of "over analyzation." Stealing is against the Law. Did i break any law? Please try to understand the point.

Cheating? I think its defined as "To violate rules deliberately." And i don't see myself voilating any rules. But i would agree that it was a loophole in the system; i just used it to save some time. And if you think my friend did the wrong thing......well acoording to retailer, Employees can't buy PS3 on November 17th. But it doesn't state that when store opens they can't walk in with a friend from the side entrance.

Where do you draw the line?
Thank God i didn't steal a PS3 or kill anyone for it. I walked into the store, picked one, walked to the Checkout point, paid with money that i've earned honestly, and walked out. I know my limits, and my lines are well drawn.

How do you decide that line for yourself?
I think that question is a good way to respong to Alex comments

Alex, you have to draw a line for yourself. If you want to break a law, you can but you have to face the consequences. And please do let me know where did i break a law in this situation. If you are mad that you've to wait in line, while i got away with it, than your anger is justified. I can't do anything about it. Sorry.

Thats right. You may want to call retailer and let them know about it, so that next time they can cover their loopholes well, and no 'injustice' will happen, in your terms.

I'm just shaking my head on how this subject of "PS3 + WII... who was waiting or will wait???" lead to a battle of Ethics and Morals.
I would like this discussion to stay of CD, as its getting way off topic. If anyone has a problem or would like to discuss this matter please IM me anytime you want at Crazymadi04 or just PM.

Alrighty...so who got the PS3 and does it work as magnificently as was expected?

I don't know why some people waited all night to get these systems. Tward the middle of the day the 30 of us that were at my friends house all pitched in $10 a piece and we walked down State Street (in Chicago) and there were still a few wiis left at Sears. We asked about the PS3 and they said that they should have some more coming in at the end of the week.

Everything in the SEARS says they are coming in soon. It is a huge marketing ploy to get people to buy them before tehy buy another cheaper console for their kids. It is the PlayStation Schemes. We studied them in Marketing.

Somehow I doubt any company would want to miss holiday opportunities.
