I revamped my team's website this year: bobcatrobotics.org

I used Moo.fx for the dropdown stuff. I used magpie rss to get those videos that we have from google video. All of it was coded Notepad++ and all the graphics were made in Photoshop.

Is there a reason why about 90% of these links work anymore? I was hoping to get an idea what competition was like (Don't tell me to search Google, I'm only being sarcastic).

Our web guy from last year left, and I really didn't like the way our site was anyway. I'm still working on our current site, but if you'd like to see how it's going: http://www.bedfordrobotics.org Very basic site using Joomla! CMS and phpBB for the forums. I've yet to integrate logins from both together, still waiting on a team name/logo.

Are there any other teams out there using a wiki platform?

Highlife, I like what you guys did with your site. I was just checking it out today after reading this thread, and I must admit that after viewing a boatload of other teams who used MediaWiki or some alternative (and yes, lots of teams also use Wiki) I thought that this was just for the most basic of setups. Kudos, keep it up!

We use Joomla! Content Management System [http://www.joomla.org/] and I'm in the process of setting up a Wordpress for blogging, then somehow integrating those with phpBB from MySql to make one big happy site. I like keeping busy, as you can see!

Check out this guy's tutorial, you could almost just use Wordpress for the whole website (it's a nice little mod for a CMS). Wordpress can do just about anything. It's also very easy to theme. Don't think Wordpress is just for bloggging, that's oh so wrong. Personally, I would recommend not having Joomla!, Wordpress and phpBB all in one.

Concerning phpBB, I would use phpBB3 if you're not. Their's many advantages like no spam and better .. everything pretty much.

Yah, I know there's much better ways of doing it. I'm just seeing what I can do. I've seen the sites you're describing using just Wordpress for everything. I might do that still...

Geez, I hate working on dialup. I'll check out your site later, it's hard downloading and upload stuff on a crappy 28.8K connection. Hopefully I'll have DSL by Saturday.

Re: Web Competitors 2007

Ok, scrapping that whole project due to a barrier by my host, I'm just switching to Dragonfly. It's already got PHP and Coppermine built-in.

Re: Web Competitors 2007

I would still recommend Wordpress (plenty of plugins for galleries like Coppermine). Good luck anyway though!

Our 2007 website is the same domain name the design has been changed but the site is only 25% complete

Yes! I absolutely adore Team 578's site! If there were two website awards at Rochester last year, you guys would have been right up there with 340!

As for Team 1713, the new site is up and running! Compared to last year's, its a lot... what's the word?... better. That's all I have to say. Here it is: http://www.1000islandsschools.org/FIRST/First.htm
