The new layout seems nice. It will just take some getting used to. I didn't have any trouble with it being slow. I got all excited seeing the page for the 07 rule book hoping to predownload it and check out things that might have changed but there were no links to actually down load :(

Re: FIRST Website

I'm having some contrast issues. The white background is pretty bright, and the light grey is pretty light. I don't know, I think the old website was pretty spiffy, but it too had some organizational issues.

I wish they'd keep an old content archive. I want to be ableto easily find any official FRC document from any previous year.

Its definitely a looker, but a little slow, and pretty hard to navigate (although I have seen much worse). A healthy diet of Web Pages That Suck design tips could do it well. I do like the all-in-one nature of the whats going on map with FVC, FRC, and FLL all accessible from one spot.

Am I the only one that can't see any video? The audio plays fine, but no video.

Re: FIRST Website

Ok after playing with the site, I came to this conclusion. That is I don't like it. Besides being flashy with its blue background and looking cool its not user friendly. I have been in FIRST for about 6 years now and never thought that their unique easy looking web site would change into a corporate like site. I guess times have changed. Uniqueness and individuality is out and look alikes are in. Don't get me wrong FIRST has been apart of my life for a while now, but to see this shocks me. Oh well what's done is done and we have to adapt to these changes.

5) Nit-picky, but the contact pages' title (like top-of-the-browser-window title) is "Contact First", not "Contact FIRST"

From separate sites and different operating systems I have been completely unable to access the site since 1:00 PM (are cable modems now too slow???)

I like the old one better.

I liked the team pages that every team has. It made it very easy to find out what competitions what teams were going to.

They have any picture pages like, at least I think, they used to?

I'm running Ubuntu on this comp so I'm using Firefox. I figured that might have been part of the problem.

Perhaps FIRST should thing about making their website compatible with more than it is now.

I dislike it very much at this point. My personal preference would have been that they spend the time fixing/updating the old site instead of putting up a cumbersome, hard to navigate new site.

Plus, where is the History page? Information from past events was invaluable, and so far as I can see, it doesn't exist.

I have a question. I don't want to get blasted for this, but: What exactly does this new site offer over the old one?

It seems like theres less than before. The only thing that there seems to be more of is Promo stuff.

And as Cory stated, I loved all the history they had, even though they had very little as is. I would have loved to seen more, but I'm sure much of the records of previous events are just gone now.
