HAHA. Thanks for pointing 174 out for me. It wasn't needed though.

Its rather funny cause when I called them at lunch they said they were 3rd seeded. Now I think they lied or something in their bragging to me caused an effect.

Obviously the teams I knew would be on top are on top. Great job to them. It seems that the older teams are finally making their stand against the new teams.

Defense is uber-crazy! 48 is now reffered to as "The Aluminum Magnet" on CRT :D

Along with that, we have a few choice nick-names for some other teams:

"The arm destroyer."
"The Battery Ripper."
and last but not least, "White on Rice."

:D Over-all, we were plagued with minor problems all day... but we spent lots of time today and went over EVERYTHING, so now that we have a problem-fee robot, you should be seeing some pretty high scores from us.

I believe that most of the reason we always get defended by everybody is because we kept on putting up sevens on practive day. :p
Shoulda waited 'till qualifiers.

CRT is one of the more effective hybrids I've seen. Low scorer and a double (seesaw) ramp. The scorer is a la swampthing style (Similar design).

LOL that just might have to find its way onto the robot somewhere.

By the way, several robots were able to move the rack today. I swear we pushed the rack sideways about a foot during one match. This wasn't a dynamic contact hit - it was done when pushing a robot against the rack from a dead stop - did they grease the bottom of that thing or what? :ahh:

Nice change of pace to see the Top 8 loaded with veterans. Some of the rookies are still managing to make a positive impact, though.

So far, it's been a very entertaining and competitive event. My parents visited a FIRST regional for the first time, and they really enjoyed the gameplay.

Boo to the perpetually blah match scheduling algorithm - how about a major refresh for the Championship?

I 4 1 miss seeing matches with six capable robots, or even six not-so-good, robots, battling it out. :(

Oh well, there's still the elims. Maybe we'll see a good match-up or two near the end.

When the matches are finally uploaded to SOAP I HIGHLY recommend you guys watch match 58 immediately for an incredible show of teamwork to neutralize a terrific offensive bot. 48 and 772 drove over to 1126's side of the field and turned sideways and slid back and forth to deny them and 2252 access to the rack. It was brilliant defense that didn't require overly aggressive ramming or anything like that. It was a true work of art.

Travis, you aren't the only one who has noticed that the rack is definitely moving around the field a bit more here. It only takes one person to spin the rack before each match at Buckeye, as opposed to the four we had in Pittsburgh. Is this rack missing something, or is it just getting worn down?
