Same problem here.

When I'm in CD-Media and try to click on "Advanced Search," instead of getting the advanced search page I'm sent back to the CD-Media main page.

The option is available under additional options for sending a PM. When it comes to other people sending you them, it's up to them to check the box to request a read receipt.

Clicking on the advertisement banners floating at the top of the forum pages no longer takes you directly to the manufacturer but instead links you to the ChiefDelphi Advertisers page. It would be nice to be able to simply click on the advertisements to take yourself straight to their webpage to view their products.

Sorry if I'm not the first who posted this... but its because of my problem.

My settings are so that it displays 100 posts per thread... and i don't seem to get past a certain length. For instance, on this thread, i can only view up to 56, and on the game hints, i can only see to 64.

I'm using FireFox 2.0 if that helps...

I wasn't able to replicate this issue in Firefox 1.5, but when I changed the option in my UserCP, the site started displaying in a fixed width again.

Now that I've changed it back to what it was before (the forum default), the site remains at a fixed width.

Should be fixed now.

The PM Reciepts .. I'll have to see what I did.. I can't remember.
edit: on the options page, there is a section to choose "When do you want to request a read reciept?" .. is this the functionality you're looking for? Whether or not to check that box by default when sending a PM? It originally wasn't checking this option when composing a PM. It should be now.

Someone else had that problem, I couldn't recreate it in FireFox 2.0 on a Mac. I'll try a PC at work tomorrow.

Hrm. Check the last setting in the options page, and make sure its at 100% and not 980px. I changed my # of posts displayed from 40 to 50 to 100 to 50 to 40 and it never changed to/from 100% in any case.

The Portal will be fixed either Thursday night or Saturday morning/afternoon. I'll let you know when I'm done, and then you can tell me whats wrong with it.

PS. I love multi-quote.

Yep, forgot to convert that page over to the new vBulletin way -- it's all fixed now.

I was having the same problem, i talked to Brandon......

Just change it to 10 or 20 posts a page instead, at least for the time being, something is goofy, but this is the type of thing that if we ignore it, it goes away :p

But the thing is, I never had to do this before the upgrade. The new posts list would clear out on its own, by cookies or something. I never had to "mark forums read." Is there some way we can have an option to go back to that?

I (and many people I've talked to) prefer this way, because if you don't have time to read everything, you can come back and the unread posts still are unread.

It's either the old way or this way -- there won't be a per-user setting.

This way .. "uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. The forums are automatically marked as read when the last new thread is read."

Would it make it easier if there were a button right on the portal that marked them read (save a click?). I could add that when I add in the proper handling of this new method of read vs unread. I will be adding in that bold 'These posts are not new, but still contain unread ...' line on the portal, too.

I'm not fond of having posts that I have purposely choosen not read to keep showing up as unread posts. I've always liked seeing only the new posts since my last login feature.

So any method of then marking all posts read without having to visit every forum and mark it read, or have to select the last post from the selection list would be okay if your not going to revert back to the old method.

Better still would be a user setting to automatically mark all posts read at logoff.

Once you've read all you want to, you can just goto the top bar under quick links and hit "Mark Forums Read". This will mark everything read and reset your list until the next time you visit.

I don't seem to be getting e-mail notification of private messages any more. I looked at my preferences, and the box was definitely checked.

Hmm .. works for me -- check your spam/trash folder .. it may have been interpreted as spam. Also add 'noreply@chiefdelphi.com' to your addressbook/contacts/whitelist/etc. That is who the messages will be coming from.

One thing I found when I got a PM: There's a link to spotlight the PM (in about the same place as it is on a post). When you click it, it says an invalid thread was specified...which makes sense, since it wasn't a post in the first place.
