I have been to busy to take a look at your robot so my generalization might not stand. In general though ramp and arm robots have not faired terribly well with some exceptions.

Anyone at PNW feel like updating the masses at home about how the alliance selections and later matches go?

I just saw match Semi 1-2 vanish tied 32-32, and then reappear like this:

3:26 PM Semi 1-2 [1778 948 1540] [488 1595 1318] 32-0

What happened? Penalty? Tie-breaker?

There was a tie -- the match was originally scored wrong, then corrected to reflect the tie.

The series went to four matches before we lost. 948, 1540 and 1778 lost in the finals to 997, 272, and 1294.

Congratulations, everyone.

Correction, 1087 was the other team on the winning alliance, not 1294.

My apologies. Congratulations to team 1087 -- I don't know how I could've forgotten the fantastic righting move y'all made to take the match.

In match 2 of the finals I was on the losing side (1540, 1778, 948). We were just playing defense and trying to stop the other teams ramp. 1087 flipped over trying to get up a ramp. I thought that we had the match easily. Then somehow they started going up again. In some impossible feat they righted themselves. After the regional talking with my teammates we all agreed that if you can pull that move off you deserve to win. Great job 1087.

Gotta tell you what a roller coaster ride we had at PACNW. Our bot was working great most of the time because of a dedicated pit crew of students and mentors. Our drive team big Mike, human Mike, Crash and the Ice Man did a great job. These folks are all backed up by our scouts & SMEs. This really is a team effort. But all this gets you so far. We had great alliances throughout the prelims. Finally we were very fortunate, delighted, happy, euphoric (ok out of terms for this) to be picked up by 997. A great bunch of passionate robo folks. At LC we often discuss how the second pick is the toughest. What a great pick 1087 turned out to be. The competition was tough but great fun and no one got en eye poked out! So it all good.

I tried to thank everyone I could, if I missed anyone please accept my sincere thanks. After a red eye flight, we are back home safe and sound, but will soon not forget all the great folks we met at PACNW.

Thanks

There is a Flickr Group containing many photos taken from this regional. If you feel like sharing yours create a Flickr account and add your photos to the group. Tag them with "team XXXX" for each robot/team shown and everyone will get to see all the photos.

http://flickr.com/groups/2007frc_pnw/

Look for the team links on the group page to see all the photos of your team.

I think that our team has a few of our matches on our team website. That actually won the best website award. I think the thing that was the coolest about it is that a freshman was in charge of the design of the it. Anyways, if you would like to go to

www.bullbots.org

This is team 1891's website a.k.a. the "Bullbots"

I hope this answers your question.
