if the atlas ball happens to be in a corner then it can be cotrolled by our arm easily but other wise we have to push it around untill it is in a corner.

very nice

Does it actually pick up the atlas ball a little bit? And picking up balls, how well does the basket pick them up?

we are using a four motor drive train. to two front five inch wheels are geared down (sorry i don't know the exact gearing) and the two in the back are geared even further down. we have differn't gearings so that we can get up the lazy susan. after all our robot weighs a good 10-15 lbs. and the front is two free spinning omi wheels for stability.

no unfortunitly it does not pick up the atlas ball.:( infornt of the basket is a bar that rotats the balls right into the basket. and just reverse to roller to exspell any unwanted balls.

Yes scott is right in the fact that we can't physiclly pick up the atlas ball without some help. But we do have a way to control it. Basicly we roll it around on the floor untill we get to our corner. Then we can situate ourselfs so that our arm and the main body of the robot completly prevent any bots from getting to it or it rolling away. It also can get a stack of balls into the basket preaty handilly
