How much do you pay for airfare?

What are you paying to go to Atlanta??
Hartford to Atlanta direct is $450 to $500.
Hartford to LA direct is $300.
Hartford to Birmingham AL. is $218 then a two and half hour +/- ride to Atlanta.

Airfair

we dont take airplanes, even though most of our stuff is pretty close, our team has been know to take the bus because those 14 hour bus rides there, then 14 hours back are the way the team has been able to connect and help create bonds with the rest of the team. You get to know people when u can spend time overnight and every waking moment when u can be relaxed and not "running around for the competition".

And i dun like airplanes, heights = bad

i am curious for the prices though because we were thinking incase the team was to go somewhere else next season.

That is odd. It is amazing to see the rates vary like that.

NYC to Atlanta is currently ~$260
Boston to Atlanta is currently ~$305

Good luck,

I just booked flights for the attorneys in my office to attend their annual conference. The prices have increased by 1/3 over last year.

We're a CT based team as well, and found that our airfare to Atlanta was about 1/2 the cost when we flew out of NYC vs. Bradley. Now, I know that Aces High is literally 5 minutes from the airport, but saving $100-$200 per person could certainly sway you to drive down to Laguardia.

We only had 20 or so people, so we drove down in 4 or 5 cars and parked off-site at Avistar (about $14/day/car with discount) 2 hours door-to-door. I think the parking and gas costs came out to $20 a person on top of the airfare. I know your team is a bit bigger, which might require a bus to get you down to Laguardia. Obviously, that will have to be factored into your costs.

Airfare out of Bradley is hit and miss. I've flown direct (both ways) to Las Vegas for under $200, yet can't get to a flight to Philly for under $300. Go figure.

Manchester, NH - Philadelphia, PA ~$100 pp round trip. They usually have fantastic deals from Manchester.

I'd definitely shop around at those rates; I drove two hours to Charlotte to fly to Cal Games (flew into/out of SFO there), and the round-trip was $220.

But to answer your question, Columbia SC to Atlanta round-trip is 269 (leave the day before, come back the day after). At that rate, I'll just drive the four hours! :ahh:

I am taking the greyhound to ATL with Court and it is $116 round trip per perspn. cheaper than the $237 round trip per person from O'hare to ATL.

We haven't bought tickets yet, but it looks like it's around $350 for SFO-ATL direct and $430 for SJC-ATL through LAX and DEN

It's still a little too far out for the Championship, but you should take a look at www.farecast.com before booking. In addition to searching many carriers at once, it'll also make a prediction on when the best time to buy airfare is. Sometimes it's cheaper to wait, sometimes it's not.

Vegas flight's are really cheap becuase they want everyone under the sun to visit and essentially gamble. The costs to fly out of vegas on an one-way is drastically higher then a one way flight into vegas for the sole purpose of wanting more turists (sp?)

by the way... where did spell check go?

Gone, for the time being at least, due to browsers having built in spellcheck

Really watch when you buy airfare.

When we were looking at tickets to Atlanta 2 & 1/2 months ago, it would have cost us $500 from Phoenix because it was so far ahead of time.

Currently the price is about $350 nonstop roundtrip. I think a bus would be fun if it was closer, but 26 hours on a bus and missing 2 extra days of school is pretty much an instant no.

It really is NOT to early to book airfares. The two weeks around the championship is school vacation for alot of schools. My travel agent has been in the business for atleast 30 years. When I go see him this time of year to book flights he says do not wait much longer to book or you will get shut out. Our airport is kinda big but not that big. Does not operate 24/7.
